Legend legendary Fish
So every source I find says you can catch multiple of the fish 'Legend'.
It has an amazing sell value of 11,250, so I was excited for spring to roll back around so I could catch a bunch of them for a lot of money.

I caught one, and then just never had the chance to again, he never reappeared for me.
Is there some hidden mechanic to this that I don't know about? Was it patched out and not mentioned? I looked through the patch notes and there's no mention of any Legendary Fish mechanics being changed.

I was trying to do this in Multiplayer, does that perhaps have an effect on it? I haven't actually tried it on a single player file.
Is he just excessively rare to appear again if you've already caught one?

Well, as far as I know, the question is are you playing with any mods? if not, the legend fish is extremely rare, so the reason may be that since you already caught one, it will be a long time to catch another.
(Oh, and there's tricks to getting them without fishing, if your one to cheat, if you want to know what they are just ask me.)

I am not playing with any mods, and don't plan to for awhile, since I'm still fairly new to the game.
So it's simply that the fish becomes extremely rare after your first catch? Because my first catch I found 4 in a row very quickly (caught on the 4th obviously)

ingame books that you can find and read after that in the library are very clear that the legend fishes are onetime catches, because the fishes are one of/last of a kind.

The final legendary fish "Legend" can be caught multiple times. Confirmed, I've done it, repeatedly.

The other legendary fish are once only never to be seen again.
