Garden Pots don't work right on Ginger Island?

For some reason, despite having a garden pot planted with a Fairy Rose, none of the bee houses around it produce Fairy Rose Honey; they only produce Wild Honey. The Fairy Rose is definitely mature, too. What am I missing?

That's because of the garden pot. Flowers need to be planted in the ground in order for bees to produce different kinds of honey.
