yes, but you better have the slime charmer ring or you're dead. Also, be sure to put a wicked statue inside so they don't get turned into void slimes.

Is it more profitable to farm purple slimes for iridium instead of going to the skull cavern?

No, it's far more easy to just go there and bomb away, you can get iridium faster than any slime farm. An iridium farm certainly helps, though. Late game you can also get a thing that gives you free iridium every day.

I find the slime hutch to be completely useless. I get more iridium from running skull caverns than waiting for them to recreate. The drop rate is pretty low even with the burgler ring on.

Also unless the patch changed the void slimes, they still are purple slimes with their loot drops still available. I killed all my void slimes and still got the same drops as if they were purple slimes.

As of 1.11, yeah. It did nothing before.

Do different colored slimes give more slime balls? Ex: Greens give 10 slime, purple give 25?

I know slime eggs sell for decent money, now, but still... don't think I'll bother with one this playthrough. Riverlands is too limited for space.
