Tree Tap problems

I'm having trouble using the tree tap. Whenever I place it on the tree, wait a few days, and then take it off, I don't get any syrup of any sort. Or at the least any sap I then can craft into syrup. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

You need to wait until the little harvest icon pops up, and then you right click on it to harvest it. You don't need to take the tree tap off.

odd as I had it on for like a in-game week and nothing happened. I'll try again

It can take from 4-8 days.

Yeah, don't remove the tapper from the tree.

Unless you want to move it to another tree, but that's a different issue.

When it's done "harvesting", a little bubble with an icon of syrup or whatever will pop up. You just right-click it to take it off. You shouldn't ever have to remove the tapper.

Also, if you're trying to tap a stump, that won't work. It used to work, which was great for seeing behind the trees, but it was unrealistic so they removed it.
