Mac laptop, no mouse - can anyone figure out how to attach bait/tackle?
I have an M1 macbook air, both ports have been damaged, which prevents me from using my logitech mouse hookup - is there any combination of keystrokes or actions that anyone can think of that would let me attach bait and tackle? Everything else has been fine, the game runs just fine with track pad and keys, but this *one* thing (so far) is completely out of my reach.

I'm broke, so buying a new mouse that doesnt require a physical adapter is out of the question for the foreseeable future.

Any advice or assistance that anyone could offer would be most appreciated.

Uh hmm, that's a good question.

It should be possible to just click-and-drag, but you'll need to try it with the Inventory open, not just on the tool bar.

That said ... it may be a one-way trip for your bait (whereas I usually use the rod to store bait when I'm playing and add and remove as I need it).

I would have thought some combination of control-click, option-click, or command-click would have done it, but I just tried it (on my MacBook Pro) and it didn't work. So ... hmm...

You might be able to tweak it using System Preferences -> Trackpad. Take a look at those controls.

Yeah, all the stuff that *feels* like it should work seems not to. I can click and drag the bait, but when I release, it just places the bait in the slot the pole was in. I sort of think the function is not programmed in? Not having *any* access to a mouse is a little weird, for sure, but it's where I find myself.

Thanks for the reply, I'll check the trackpad preferences.

I figured it out!

Tap the track pad with two fingers to pick bait/tackle up, then apply it with a two finger tap. I totally wouldnt have if you hadnt mentioned looking at the trackpad references, Nakos, thank you!

I'm glad you could solve your issue. I want to add a link to Apple's website showing basic trackpad moves with fingers, which can help you a lot when you don't have mouse with you. Most of the controls are the same with Windows OS, though.

That's very kind, thank you.

I hope the other folks who have asked this question find this answer - I looked *everywhere*, and most folks who asked just got scolded for not having a mouse. Pleased to have had a different experience.

Could also look into a dwell clicker (not a mac user but I hear the MacOS has one built in, unlike Windows, in which case you have to buy one) or voice recognition software.
