Then I started a farm where my characters name was Tarzan so the farm was called Jungle farm, even though I didn't use the forest map.
My currant character is named Rosey, and my farm is called Wildlife farm, with a focus on farming, with lots of trees, a huge main greenhouse and several Tiny Greenhouse's , and several adopted horses. The weekly Farmers Market has made me rich as well, selling all the artisan goods my farm produces in the automated greenhouse and large warehouse shed.
The farm before was called "Sunnisheim". Sunnisheim is the historical way of calling Sinsheim. Which is a city in Germany. I went to school there. The first settlers eventually called it Sun-home or home of the sun - Sunnisheim. It then morphed into what is known as Sinsheim.
In the loading screen you get your character's name, and the farm's name, but not what layout you chose or whether it was remixed bundles etc.
I have a challenge farm now for "never using any energy" so I call that "Inaction Farm", and the character's name is Inara.
Another current farm is all about never leaving the farm layout to go into town except for once per year, and I call that "Isolation Farm" with the character Isolde.
Once I wanted to speed-run how fast I could befriend every NPC in the game to max hearts, and that was "Friendship Farm".
Once I was just teaching myself how to fish and doing nothing else, so that was "Fisherman Farm".
When I was a newbie at the game I would just name it after the farm layout, so "Standard, Forest, Riverland, Hilltop, 4-Corners, or Monster" were good farm names then.
Times that I tried to get fancy and name it something like "Dreamland Farm" I was disappointed because I could never remember what the deal was supposed to be on that playthrough. Once I stepped away from playing it daily it was very difficult to get back into it because it was so nondescript.
My current farm name is Rokkaku Acres. It is partially named after the name of the map I am using which is this one: Sunflower Acres[www.nexusmods.com]
And also after a hidden ninja town from a console game I absolutely love. It is very japanese themed so it really fits and with only 25% profit margin things are moving along slowly but surely! Edit: Link to Japanese buildings in case anyone is interested Seasonal Japanese Buildings[www.nexusmods.com] It looks really pretty in game!
My current farm is "Green Gables Farm" because screw originality, it's a damn good name. Previous one was "Maple Hills Farm" because I went with the Hilltop map and wanted a maple syrup factory of sort.
I forget exactly where/when the name originally came about, but as to "Why??" - Some other game with family years ago, prompted for world or save name; after discussions about what to call it went exactly nowhere..... I looked around the room for an idea, and my eyes settled on a dragon stuffed toy that was sort of fuzzy/fluffy material.
It has become our go-to name for a family game world ever since.
Choose whatever name you want, for whatever reason you want.
It doesn't /have/ to be based on what you are trying to accomplish; (but if you are planning to run multiple saves, it can help distinguish between them).
Fluffy Dragon Farm was originally intended to be very casual and light-hearted fun for 2 people. I thought it would last maybe a single in-game year.
Now we're in Year 4, closing in on finishing the True Perfection achievement.
While I appreciate the idea of using your farm name as a form of quick notes to tell you what's going on in that particular save, I prefer to role-play, and name my farm something I find aesthetically pleasing.
As inefficient as that might be
I think people like me who do say "should" aren't really trying to tell you you're wrong if you don't do it our way, but are just used to it as a way of speaking. In my case, I shared why my system works best for what I care about.
But you should (ha) definitely go with whatever name you like!
Maybe if you tell us what you're really looking for in a name we could give better suggestions?
I'm sure some people here know what this formula means so a fun fact: My save file is in fall of 4th year, still at 51% perfection.
I have always been terrible at names so something to strike a light in my memory helps.
