pictures galore from hidden camera??

Had something weird happen today. When I started my play this evening, I took a couple of pictures of events in my farm and town.
Then for some reason, and without me realizing it, the game started taking pictures of everything that was happening, Repeatedly, constantly, for 3 days in game.
I did not realize any of this was happening. It was only when I closed the game and checked into stream that I saw a bunch of repeated pictures, multiple pictures of the same scenes. I started to delete the extra pictures, and I realized there were LOTS of them, I ended up deleting well over 1400 pictures!!!! There were pictures of every piece of mail I had opened over the three days as well.

Has this ever happened to anyone else?? Any ideas HOW it happened?? Did I accidently hit just the wrong series of keys on my laptop for all these pictures to start taking themselves??
How do I prevent it from happening again???

yes, you just windows button and F12 at the same time. I know I didnt hit those 2 keys at the same time 1400 times by accident. So I dont know how the game took so many pictures.

I'd suggest double checking your Steam hotkeys by going into View, clicking Settings and choosing the In-Game tab to make sure your screenshot key isn't mapped to a key you use frequently.

You may have also disabled the "Display a notification" option right below it, which may explain why you didn't realise you took so many pictures until afterwards.

thanks for the suggestion, I checked the Steam settings, and the screen shot key is F12, same as in game. I also checked all my in game keybinding and I dont have one for screenshots. at least not where I can find, not listed in my UI info.

I have always taken screen shots with F12, which is not a key I use frequently or press accidently, as its not near my left hand, and right hand is usually on the mouse.
Its a mystery.
