Question regarding Ginger Isle farm and maximizing profits late-game.
I'm trying to maximize my profit and speed up everything in my primary save file to complete everything. I already filled my greenhouse with ancient fruit plants and make ~70 wine from them weekly. I was thinking of pushing this count up to 200-400 weekly, so that I came here to ask this question: Is it possible to plant ancient fruit plants in Ginger Isle's farm? And do I need scarecrow there?

I'm also trying to make a barn full of pigs for truffle oils, they are very profitable. One other question regarding it is: Should I sell my coop to build another barn and fill it with pigs?

Also, if you have any late-game fast profit tips, I would love to hear.

After completing the save file I'll go finally install some mods, I'm excited for SVE.

Also, late-game profit tips from someone with 1k hours ^_^

1. make LOTS of kegs:

Turning Starfruit/ancient fruit into wine is very profitable (As you already know). I currently am doing 100% of EVERYTHING (Including getting all the shirts, hats etc) and am on year 2 Fall sitting close to 10mil earned in total, and I earned MOST of this thanks to the 350-400 kegs I have. Just these kegs alone with Starfruit made me 1.3mil a week. Just about to start on ancient wine now that I've finished my own island farm lol.

2. Don't underestimate preserve jars:

I have 2 full large sheds of preserve jars (totalling 274 jars altogether) that makes me 55k every 3 days. So, over 100k a week. I also make sure to plant Strawberries in Spring, Blueberries in Summer and Cranberries in Fall for the preserve jars. With around 200-300 planted, this will keep your jars going all year round, meaning a constant 100k+ a week just from this.

3. Have 1 extra Keg/Jar:

Let's say you turn the Quarry into a Keg Kingdom. When you fill it with your fruits, if you have a spare keg next to your bed/somewhere on your farm that you can easily see, this will let you know when the things in the Quarry are done, like a memento. In early game, this isn't so much an issue as you don't have a lot to keep track of. But, in late game, remembering the days when things are completed becomes a lot more complicated as there's just so much. This removes that and gives you a kind of "clock" for when everything's finished.

You can do the same with sheds. Fill it with what ever machine you want, then add a spare one on the outside to let you keep track of when the contents of that shed is completed. This can also include your furnaces, crystalarium's and any other machines.

4. Have fairy-roses and beehives on Ginger Island:

If you don't mind adding extra work for yourself every 4 days, then you can turn the area across the river of Ginger Island farm into a beehive empire. Fairy-Rose Honey with the artisan perk sells for 952g each every 4 days. With 4 Fairy-Roses planted in the middle, you can have about 56 beehives surrounding it whilst being able to reach them all.

Here's a layout of the beehives to help you along your way!

https://www.reddit.com/r/StardewValley/comments/l3a47y/beehive_setup_in_ginger_island_maybe_i_missing/

Just throw a basic sprinkler in the middle of the flowers and jobs a good-un, you never have to touch the flowers again!

(This is something I haven't tried yet for myself, but I am 100% going to be on this farm as I want to see just how broken it is. All I know is that it is rather profitable xD).

5. Deluxe Retaining Soil + Garden Pots in Sheds:

The Deluxe Retaining Soil is a recipe you can get from the Ginger Island Trader, and the Garden Pot is something you get off of Evelyn after befriending her a bit (I think). If you combine these 2 things together, you have yourself 137 crop-spots in the space of a 7x3 (So, 21 spots), so, an extra 116 spots to grow things per Shed! With the Retaining Soil, it will be watered 100% of the time after you water it for the first time, and you can grow crops from ANY season in there, including the rare seeds (Sadly not Ancient Fruit though, but you can grow everything else). I would most likely pick Pineapples, as they are the most profitable crop that continuously grows, so you only ever have to plant it once.

That's all I can think of for end-game MASSIVE profit making (With a lot of work. But, that's to be expected in a game like this xD). Most of these I've never tried before, because I always ended up walking away after just 100%ing the game (By the games standards I mean). However, all of these will eventually be implemented into the new save I've been playing, as I want to be as rich as humanly possible lmao.

Hope any of these help!

You don't need scarecrows on Ginger Island, but you may need to protect your island farm from grass regeneration as they can destroy the crops you're trying to grow there without warning. You can prevent this, however, from simply covering all tillable land with crops or something that can be placed.

Also, yes, most, if not all, crops can be planted on the Island farm, including Ancient Fruit.

Just to add to this, if you want to generate the maximum money, you need to plant and keg Starfruit, not Ancient Fruit. But the added profit comes with the price of a steep maintenance increase.

Very short math:

1000 Starfruit vs 1000 Ancient Fruits in a year

Starfruit:

Investment: 4 880 000
Profit: 32 920 000 (12 harvests)
Profit per day: 293 928

Ancient Fruit:

Investment: 80 000 (and time to get the seeds)
Profit: 29 500 000 (13 harvests)
Profit per day: 263 392

=> https://thorinair.github.io/Stardew-Profits

P.S. Yes, the most profitable crop is Hops, but the grow on trellies so the possible numbers are to low.

I have tried both Starfruit and Ancient Fruit farming methods, and made searches across internet, and found Ancient Fruit farming was more profitable. Also, Ancient Fruit process is easier imo. Just collect from a plant and slap it to a keg. Unlike starfruit, ancient fruit plants keep bearing fruit. Planting seeds continously isn't necessary, which saves time.

Thank you for letting me know I don't need scarecrows and about the grass regeneration. I think I will fill everywhere that's not planted with planks. I just hope the grass won't randomly appear on planted areas.

Same here. Despite starfruit and all wine made with it having a higher sell price, you also have to buy the seeds every 14 days and they only grow once before needing to be replanted, as well as only growing during Summer on your home farm.

On the other hand, not only do Ancient Fruit crops provide more fruit, that being up to 8 from a single seed on your home farm or unlimited on the island farm, but the seeds themselves are also free and even more seeds can be produced by placing the fruit into a seed maker for future use. :stardrop:

So even though Ancient Fruit are worth less than starfruit, I found Ancient Fruit to be far more profitable in the end anyway. The costs that come with starfruit kind of outweighs the potential gains by comparison.
z3r0t3n™ Sep 25, 2022 @ 3:50am
I also use Ancient Fruit because the added labor is it not worth for me to go for Starfruit. But in the pure numbers, Starfruit will always beat Acient Fruit in the possible money gain.

Thank you so much NBOX21 and z3r0t3n(TM) for your precious feedbacks and tips. Your help is greatly appreciated. Hope you both get auto petter soon :)

I still seek answer to my second question about truffle farming, but I think I already know the answer to it. I can already make 30-40k profit weekly with 3 pigs, which is quite profitable.

Depends really. I usually like to have at least 1 of each animal on my farm, but, 90% of them are just there because "I want to have everything", since animals from coops don't really make money.

Having 12 pigs alone nets you around 20-50k a day (Depending on the season I think, as, from what I've seen, they seem to find more truffles in Summer/Fall). So, having 2 barns full will double that.

I also don't turn it in to truffle oil, I just sell them as is (Since they sell for a good amount already). By end-game, you'd usually have between 500-1000 kegs, 300+ jars and whatever else you have randomly about. Adding more work with the oils seems like a pain.

With the addition to you using the island farm for your ancient fruit/starfruit (Whichever one you decide on) I go Ancient for the easy once a week rotation, you can also turn your quarry into a place for kegs. I was able to fit close to 400 kegs in there, and it allows you to fast travel to it thanks to the minecarts.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

These information are extremely detailed; such a detailed feedback that I didn't even think I would receive. The information and ideas are brilliant here, especially filling up the Quarry and leaving one Keg as a reminder near house, to let know when they are finished. I want to specially thanks for this tip.

I never thought of making profit off of bees, this sounds quite interesting. I'll definitely try it on my next save file.

I never really understood the point of garden pots, they felt like useless to me. It's good to know I could use deluxe retaining soil in them. I also had a pile of pineapple seeds laying in a few chests. I might fill up half of a shed I was trying to figure out how I could put to a good use.

Once again, I want to thank you for your hard work you put in writing this detailed feedback and high IQ tips. I'm happy to stumble upon such a helpful community.

Haha, these topics always remind me that I am "bad" at these kinds of games. I mean, I don't care, I have fun and that's all that matters, but I am so NOT aggressive in my spending and expansion that I make peanuts compared to you guys. Compared to something like a shooter where even the best player is just shooting things faster than me, the difference between my experiences and ya'll's is just massive in Stardew Valley. This isn't a criticism or complaint, it just sort of tickles me to notice.

I think the community is kinda split down the middle. On one hand, you have players like me who min/max as much as they feel is needed. But, the other half are those who just play as chill as possible and don't care about the length of time it takes, since it's meant to be a relaxing game.

That's the BEST thing about Stardew, EVERY play-style is a good one! All that matters is if you're playing it how YOU want too and you're having fun along the way.

I mean, I don't know many people who would be as insane as me with the fact I'm currently aiming to get 100% of EVERYTHING the game has to offer (So, shirts, hats, trousers, furniture, all candidates married/divorced including Krobus at the end for a room-mate, all animals at max hearts, 2 kids at max hearts, all achievements (Including the dreaded Fector's Challenge again xD), all buildings (Including ones I've never built before like the Mill lol)). Some of these things, such as the hats, could potentially take me 100's of hours thanks to RNG, yet I'm enjoying every minute of it.

But, I did spend the first 300+ hours of my playtime playing as slow as possible, to the point it took me till year 3 to learn what the community centre was, and then till year 5 to complete it xD.
