Marlon's Boat Quest

I have gathered the 5 items that Marlon requested before allowing use of his boat, but can find no spot to deposit them?

When you have everything required in your backpack, talk to Marlon and everything should be given to him :>

This question is about SVEs boat not about the vanilla boat going to Ginger Island.

Yeah, that is correct for Willy's boat quest. This is something else entirely.

I've tried that several times, and I only get one of the standard responses like: "You're doing the Valley proud. Keep it up!
Your method has always worked with other similar quests
I have reinstalled the game several times, all else appears ok??

That is a bit odd. It was some time ago I did that particular quest myself so I am not sure if the author of the mod has made some change to it. What I would try next is to give Marlon one of the required items and see if that somehow gives him all of them (make sure to still have everything in the backpack!). I can't imagine you would have to gift him all of that one at a time. So give that a try as well is my suggestion. Edit: Typo!

Hard to maybe believe, but I did gift Marlon all 5 requested items. Responses were either “Thanks” or “That doesn’t suit me”
Unfortunately, I did not wait for the next day, instead deleted the SVE, Granpas’s Farms, Adventures Guild Expanded… Downloaded the latest and went with it . I was surprised when Marlon showed up the next morning and took me to his boat. Oh Well…. I never really liked the Highlands, but now I have access. Hope this may help others.

You have to give Marlon all the items he requested AND have 2 hearts with Lance. Then wait for the next day (or a few days later ) . he will show up back at your farm in the morning and tell you to meet him back at the guild.
there was no need for you to delete all those mods. I have been to the Highlands several times, there is lot of mining available there.

Yeah that sounds about right though after doing some digging. According to some as soon as you give Marlon one of each of the requested items he takes them all and then visit you the day after. There seems to be some confusion around this particular quest and it has not always worked like this as far as I know from my own experience. Something for the author to consider I guess. Adding a box to dump the items in would be much better.

2 hearts with Lance is actually what is required to trigger the boat quest. It can still be finished even if the hearts with Lance drops below 2.
