Little shed behind house after upgrading?

I was wondering if someone has the answer to this; I haven't been able to find one.

I don't remember seeing this weird building the first time I played, but I started a new game after the recent updates and after upgrading my house to get married, this weird little shed popped up behind the shipment crate. It has a tiny little door, and a sign with what looks like a loaf or an smelted bar on it.

Any ideas what it is/does?

It's shane's chicken coop. That small tiled area behind the house is something that the spouse fills with some personal flavor.
