Gearing up for the Oasis Dungeon

I've beat the mines and managed to unlock the Oasis and am ready to start hitting the dungeon there (want to get iridium for iridium sprinklers). Only problem is i'm currently using the Bone Sword which has been good enough up until now.

I'm wondering if I should buy the Lava Katana or try looking for prismatic shards for the galaxy sword. What would be better I wonder. And what's the most effective strategy for getting prismatic shards?

Lava katana, it's good enough for the skull cave. Omni geodes are good for finding the prismatic shard, but you need a lot of them.

Ah thanks. Lava Katana is 25k which isn't actually a lot of money now that I think about it. 3 days income for me rn.

I took the plunge and have actually been finding a healthy amount of omni geodes from the skull cave. Got 3 iridium ingots from 2 trips which isnt bad. I do need to make buffing foods though and am now glad i've been stockpiling ingredients.

With these iridiums rolling in it's hard to say whether I should make an iridum ring or upgrade my pickaxe, or just build the sprinklers and finish outfitting my greenhouse. I'll probably go the ring for the attack bonus, then pick so I can run the skull cave even harder. Then I'll do sprinks.

id say go for the ring and then the pick axe upgrade. you can buy an Iridium Sprinkler every Friday from Krobus (that shadow creature in the Sewers) for 10000g

Same... I kinda go when I have nothing else to do, maybe once a season if I feel the need to go to the desert for something

I just used the obsidian edge(?) you get for free from the mines until I got the galaxy sword.

I got my prismatic shard and lots of other minerals for the library by bulk buying omnigeodes from Sandy (Oasis shop on Wednesdays) repeatedly until I got what I needed. Got a fairly decent amount of iridium from doing that too and then made some money back and cleared inventory space by selling the uneeded minerals straight to Clint.

i buy 100-200 at a time when i am bored to do this, not so much since i got statue of perfection tho
