What's your favorite part of Stardew Valley?
Im new to the community and wanna hear what you guys like the MOST about the game.

What do you HATE about the game?

(I love the community center goals, and I HATE how fast the days go by)

I enjoy the amount of freedom the game gives me. Sometimes I don't really want to bother with animals, or sometimes I don't want to bother with crops. Maybe I don't feel like mining, but I've got fat stacks of cash from the vineyard I've set up, so I could just buy the ore I need. The game is still focused on a select few tasks, and there are still optimized ways to make money, but I enjoy that nothing feels much like a commitment.

I like the part that they got greenlit with promises of multiplayer but then No Man's Sky got that multiplayer update instead.

Too bad No Man's Sky was a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game at release, and Stardew Valley wasn't.

I see that it upsets you every time I mention No Man's Sky's multiplayer. Is it because SDV doesnt have multiplayer? Maybe you should turn that frown upside down with some multiplayer action. May I suggest No Man's Sky? It has more multiplayer than SDV and may just be enough to quench your rage over the lack of multiplayer.

I hate how fast time goes by too. If you want to do something as simple as give villagers gifts, you better forgo all other plans that day. It's very easy to end up wasting most of the day doing basic stuff, which is why I rarely interact with the towns people. I really like a lot of things in the game. I think my fave are the leveling, because Harvest Moon did not have that option from what I remember. I like this game because it reminds me of Harvest Moon so much.

SAAAMEEE I have my gamecube still just to play the two harvest moon games I have. I also have it for DS. The DS Version is closer to SDV though

I wouldn't call it a "hate", but what really irks me at times on my first game save file... is she did the community center stuff. even though joja is ran out of town.. if i pass out in my property, they still come get me to take to the drs. like.. i mean... why were they on my property to begin with? Like i just happened to be lucky they were passing through? Who would that be??? shane or sam? lol i mean... one game i was missing something... and i will swear forever the reason i was missing it ever after was because of passing out in the mine and joja saving me... but some fo that was abated when i learned to manage time well. still...

when you get to it; i can see linus being on your property if he took the backwoods route. but why would anyone from joja be on your property? secret surveillance? hmmm

what i love about the game is the sandbox aspect. if you wanna just fish you can. if you wanna just chop that wood; you can break a leg at it if you want. i mean you need a little bit of everything if you wanna expand the farm... but i've read around recently some people don't do the farming at all..

I just love how customizable it is to a players style. There are so many different ways to play it, and different ways to achieve the same thing. On top of that, the relaxing nature of it and the attention to detail on the story makes this game such a treat to play. I honestly don't dislike anything about the game.

Can't really pinpoint just one thing. I like the casual and "take your time" gameplay of it. Makes for a good stress reliever, knowing that you're never too late for anything. (Besides like one heart event for Alex)

I also really like the NPCs, and how you can develope and interact with them in so many ways. And they all feel distinct, and nobody has the same personality. You can even marry some of them!

Also, the amount of things you can do. You can farm, chop trees, grab ground items, mine, fight monsters, care for animals, go fishing (Which is honestly the only thing I don't like about the game. It's just too boring...), and brew wines. You can make it so no two playthroughs are the same by focusing on certain things and choosing different specialties.

I really like the repetitiveness of the gameplay. How, no matter how good you are at the game, you always gotta do the same thing. I really like the farming, I like patterns, starting every non-rainy day the exact same way: Picking produce, planting new crops, watering, checking on my animals. Does this take several hours every single day? Yes, but I do it with a smile, because it's absolutely relaxing.
A thing I'm not fond of is birthdays and giving gifts. I'm really bad at remembering to go out and give gifts, and I absolutely cannot remember any birthdays and I do not know what anyone likes at all.

That moment you realise your harvest item is worth more than the artisian, which saves you time.

With the Foraging skill turning up all my truffles iridium quality, I no longer have any need for Truffle Oil, since iridium Truffles are worth 200 gold more.

My milk repeatedly comes out Large Iridium because my cows love me and it's worth more than cheese.

Still, I really wish you could sell machines you don't need, rather than just binning them.

I always keep tabs for the wiki open either on my phone or in the background for referencing for gifts. however; almost everyone likes fresh fruit and milk or eggs. One day I had a lot of apples; I rode around town gifting apples to everyone. I got 3 hearts with almost everyone that week. XD
