How do you handle friendships on a new farm
So I wanted to try to talk to everyone often on my new farm and get friendship high pretty early. But damn that seems to be "impossible" finding everyone everyday would take so much damn I can't go fishing or into the mine. How do you handle the friendship stuff ? Are you talking to everyone or just a few people? Do you start to focus on friendship later in game ? Talking to the npcs and friendship stuff stresses me more out than min max a complete farm :D

I usually pick 1 person to start with so I can marry them as fast as possible (For the stardrop), then I work on 4-5 people that live around the same area, such as Linus, Robin, Maru and Demetrius all at the same time.

You don't NEED to talk to them every day, you can gift them every Sunday/Monday for your 2 times a week then leave it at that till the week after.

I usually leave friend making until the second year, because, by then, you'll have a surplus of items, making gifting a lot easier. Then, as I said, I work out a route/section that I want to do first and just go from them, doing 4-5 people at a time, and only moving on to the next person once I have one maxed out. Don't forget Birthday's and the Luau as well, give it the best item (Such as a super cucumber or gold-star cheese) and this will increase friendship with everyone.

Just remember, there's no rush in getting them all to 10 hearts. It'll be done eventually ^_^.

For the first year I tend to focus on a spouse plus a couple of others; usually Caroline (for tea sapling) and Linus as he's easy.
Then I hit the saloon every Friday night to buy a round of beers and salads to gift to every one there. In addition, I always try to give a loved or liked gift on their birthdays.
With notice board requests along the way, that kinda takes care of the friendships while I concentrate on other things.

I just talk to them daily whenever I can as I go about town - if I don't meet someone on that day, I just try again the next day. Friendship heart decay does happen, but fairly slowly so it's not that big of a deal if you miss someone for a few days. Once you get to max hearts with someone, heart decay stops so once you've got max hearts with someone, that's even more time saved since you don't need to interact with them anymore to keep their friendship up. :espresso:

You can also try growing fruit trees on your farm and giving other people tree fruit - it's a universally liked gift by almost, if not everyone in the game so they'll always like it if you give some to them no matter how many you give them

I usually don't focus on town friendships until about Winter 1. The reason is because my main mechanism for increasing friendship is to plant a bunch of fruit trees in my greenhouse, and fruits are universally liked (and sometimes loved, by certain villagers). So I don't really worry about it at the beginning of a new farm. I really only focus on my marriage interest from the start.

You can only gift everyone 2 times per week, so no need to visit everyone every day.

Just pick one route per day and you're good to go, like pick up a Joja Can, an Egg, a flower, a sunflower, a snail, an aquamarin and a salad. That's one gift for 7 people on the south route leading to the beach, where you might want to check your crap pots twice per week. Or take a present for the 5 persons on the mountains, when you plan to visit the mines. Or take a present for harvey, pierre's family and lewis, if you need to buy seeds. And if you've time at the evening, keep in mind that many people will be in the bar, where you can also just buy food for at least half the customers there (Leah loves salad, sam loves pizza and shane and pam love beer for example)

That way i get some friendships early on, especially the ones on my prefered routes. The ones i rarely see get some love in the late game, when it gets less stressful and when i've some time for such projects

I typically pick about 5 people at a time to focus on to keep it easy, then I set a "threshold" for when I should swap people. For instance, I'll pick Robin, Demetrius, Maru, Sebastian, & Linus to focus on for a bit (since they're all close together usually) & I'll give them gifts & talk to them everyday. Once I hit 2 hearts with them, I'll rotate in other NPCs. I keep doing this until I have 2 hearts with everyone, then I cycle through again & go to 4 hearts, & so on.

I also ALWAYS stop to talk to people when I see them. Talking to people every day for a week is a whole heart gained!! So it's definitely worth it. Also don't worry so much about getting a loved gift, liked is good enough. I started doing this when I first started playing so it's always come naturally to me, it's just how I play. I always get 100% friendship with everyone really early on (usually by Spring Year 2--except for Kent & Leo)

i don't do too much until winter when things calm down
there are a few I try to work on when possible, ideally people that provide recipes or other useful stuff, as above if you do see them I talk to them and give a gift if I have one on me

I find that Friday is a good day to head to the saloon as you will find a lot of the villagers present so you can provide gifts to many in one hit, I have a gift chest in the town center for this purpose.

i try and make sure I do gift people a birthday gift as it's worth the effort, along with a decent donation to the luau

I concentrate on a few people at a time honestly, those that I know from past experience will gift me certain recipes that I need. At all the festivals I make certain to speak to everyone before speaking to the mayor to start the event. My first few are Caroline, Willy, Linus, Robin and Lewis. Then I go by families to make the running around more doable :content:
