Game resolution changes when launched with SMAPI (Windows only)
Everything looks bigger/smaller if you launch the game with SMAPI. This is usually due to Windows DPI settings.
Common fix:
- Right-click on StardewModdingAPI.exe, go to Properties > Compatibility > Change High DPI settings, and keep it open.
- Right-click on StardewValley.exe, and go to Properties > Compatibility > Change High DPI settings.
- Change the DPI settings for StardewModdingAPI.exe so they match the ones for StardewValley.exe.

The other issue is the fact the game's code limits how far you can zoom out.
So this is the fix for windows 10/11:
Go to settings and find the part for display. Then adjust your scaling to something lower. For small screens and 1080p ones (like a 15-18inch laptop screen), setting it to 100% usually solves the issue.
Some smaller laptops and screens seem to automatically use higher scaling which leads to apps doing that.
It is annoying to change it back and forth to a higher scaling after your done playing though. But it's worth it and makes it playable.
