Chucklefish didn't make Stardew, Concerned Ape did, he made his own coding which doens;t work with Workshop, enough said, end of story, this has been answered multiple times.
I tend to agree, that is why i keep telling people there will be no workshop supposrt, the entire game would have to have the code completely rewritten, and I'm sorry, but in my honest opinion, Workshop Support isn;t totally worth that for me
It wouldn't require the code to be massively rewritten. If that was true modding in the game wouldn't work as it is. All they would really need to do for workshop support is to implement an equivalent of what SMAPI already does to the game and then tie it to the workshop so that any files downloaded from the workshop get placed in the appropriate folder for the system to implent and there you go, workshop support (maybe not the neatest implementation but it would be functional workshop support).
Despite that I still do feel it's unlikely it will ever actually be implemented, especially since unless they got the rights to use SMAPI itself for this most mods that already exist would likely need to be adjusted to work with the new system which would end up killing off pretty much every mod out there whose creator isn't still actively updating it. And all the mod authors trying to make mods would have to readjust to the new system when they are already used to the current one. Honestly it would end up being more trouble for the modding community than to the devs implementing it.
Except it isn't. ConcernedApe made the entire game solo with Chucklefish being just the publisher. The only involvement Chucklefish has with the game otherwise is that they are handling the multiplayer post launch. But regardless of that they didn't make any of the main game. The core code is all ConcernedApe's and the design is all ConcernedApe.
why do you self-entiled little ***** think you are incontrol of anyone and everyones suggestions for a game, you do you and we will do us.
got it?
actually, he never said that he wants to be in control, he was just stating his opinion. has nothing to do with self entitlement either.
i can understand when people get frustrated when threads with the same topic appear over and over again. this workshop question has been answered numerous times and op could have found an answer with a quick google search so i really dont blame him.
you do you and we will do us? well..maybe you should start taking your own adivce.
