If there is not any grass outside you can buy grass starter at Pierres.
You can also purchase Hay from Marnie if needed.
You will want a Silo to store Hay for the winter.
You pay Robin to build the Silo, each one holds 240 hay.
Costs 100g, 100 stone, 10 clay and 5 copper bars to have it built.
No wood required. Needs Stone, Clay and Copper
Yeah, it's always the same thing... the game tells newbies to build a Coop, then the player ends up with Chickens that they don't know how to feed. Even if they didn't clear all the grass on their farm, which does happen a lot.
People should be told very early on that grass is animal food and that owning a Silo allows it to be converted to Hay and stored.
Ah well. Game's still in the bugfixing phase. Polish and balance will have to wait a bit more.
It does tell you but you have to talk to Marnie, she tells you about grass for feed with a Scythe and needing a Silo to store hay for the winter or you can just by from her that she could use the money.
Hmm... don't remember most of that, but I do remember something about her saying you can buy Hay from her.
Well then, I wonder why so many people with Coops are making posts to ask how to feed their animals.
