it depends on your level in the mine. If you travel further down in Skull mine, like below level 100, there is lots of it on every level.
See wiki page.

Quick answer, depends on your method. Skull mine, Volcano mine, Geodes, Fish Pond etc.
Long answer, refer to wiki.

And the statue gives you iridium every day. But that might not what you want to hear. The percentage is really low. So if you want to make better sprinklers, it might be cheaper to buy them in the sewers at friday.

ACTUALLY the rate is really high once you get way down in Skull mine. The best way to do that is to use the skull cave elevator mod. And since there is no bottom to the mine, you can eventually get endless iridium ores.

Some of the tougher monsters can drop iridium. Purple slimes, whether found in the skull cavern or raised yourself, have about an 8% chance to drop iridium ore when defeated and on rare occasions (about 0.9% chance) can even drop iridium bars. Iridium bats found on deeper floors also have a good chance (about 97%) to drop ore.

You can also find nodes that drop iridium when mined - the further down in the skull cave you go, the more likely it is to show up and the amount you'll find will increase as well. I actually managed to get very lucky once and even with the worst daily luck and no buffs, found a whole bunch of iridium nodes on the very first floor! I wish I took a screenshot of that to show you guys...

If you manage to please Grandpa and light all four candles on his shrine at the end of year 2, you can get a Statue of Perfection that will provide a slow but steady source of iridium ore (2-8 daily), though you may wish to combine that with other methods due to how slow it is.

My current play through I got an iridium bar from a treasure chest I caught in the mountain lake, I forget what season, but it was early on in year 1, like summer or fall. I must be having a run of good luck with this play through cuz I also got an Iridium band from a treasure chest. Fishing can be very lucrative if the RNG is being kind.

You won't find much if any Iridium in the mines, the most likely levels would be 90 to the bottom, but no guarantees. Skull cavern is the best place I know to find it consistently.

You can't find Iridium in regular mine no matter how deep you go.

actually that is not correct.
you can sometimes obtain iridium ore from lava and omni geodes from levels 115-119 in the mine. To further enhance geode frequency, choose the Geologist Profession at mining level 5 and the Excavator Profession at mining level 10. (this is directly from wiki and personal experience).

Yes, I have to rephrase my words. You can't find 'Iridium Nodes' in regular mine. But you can try your luck with geodes, I think the chance is something like one in hundredths
