two Sophia's
ok, for the last little while, since the update, I have had 2 Sophia's wandering around town. Some times they are together, standing on top of each other, other times the are following each other around.
So I married Sophia, and now I have 2 of them in my house too. they wander around the house separately, and I can talk to both of them.

Any idea why I have 2 of the same character?? Or how do I get rid of one of them??

Isn't that are SVE character? Why not ask the peeps over at the nexus mod page or the SVE subreddit?

Sounds like a SVE problem as I've had the same problem when I had it installed in the past though mine resulted in 7 Robins

Can you guys upload your SMAPI logs and compare the mods you use? Maybe there is an overlap that leads to this duplication issue.

Note: I dont think simple sprite/texture replacement packs are the culprits.

I found this post after digging around on the Stardew Valley expanded subreddit:

https://community.playstarbound.com/threads/multiple-sprites-of-the-same-villagers.132659/

In this forum thread a modder explains on how to fix your save files via manual editing. Make a backup of your saves before you try that.

Edit: And please use Notpad++ for doing these save game editings. Since you guys are already modding chances are that you already have the open source program Notepad++
