If you don't enough cash in the two first stages, you might as well restart since no amount of skill can compensate a lack of equippement.
I did and now I had been stuck in that day for over 4 days. (I am now at stage 3-2.)
And every morning I need to wait until the saloon open until noon.
Game's like that just not for to me and no matter what reward it gives the gameplay it self isnt worth going threw for any reward it mite give so I never bothered with it other then story with out spoilers. =P
I'd say the reward you get for beating both arcade games in the saloon just isn't worth it if you don't like playing them, honestly. They're completely optional and I believe they aren't even required for 100% completion either.
I enjoy this minigame a lot actually. In the past few weeks, I rush to the saloon at noon to play. I just feel I have to complete this game, and I'm very likely to continue playing it even after I finish it untouched(Fector's challenge).
I used to play on my cellphone, now I play on PC with a gamepad, (the controlling is) way much easiler than before.
As for coins and powerups, they've always been tricky because they don't last long (either to collect or use) and most of the time you are focusing on survival, thus it's certain you'll miss a few freebie coins and powerups because they'll disappear before you can collect them or make proper use of them.
One thing i have noticed is, PK no longer favours strategic camping - especially in the later stages. Your best bet is to keep moving at all times. For the standard enemy stages, try to hold the centre of the map and sometimes risk going for those valuable coins & power ups if they are reasonably close at hand or there is a decent gap in the enemy hordes.
As for the boss stages, they for the most part are the same as before: take cover at the start in the middle behind the wall/fence, and strafe left or right angle shooting. You can also just strafe full left or right and fire a volley straight down, before ducking for cover if your timing is good. Also, the bosses normally drop at least one free power up so make sure you get it before heading to the next level/stage - you have to be quick and accurate.
Fector is a different matter - (every time I've faced him recently, there's been zero cover, and he and his minions have an insane speed boost). Firstly, Avoid Fector - he'll almost always shoot in multiple directions in an asterisk pattern and sometimes charge you as his minions try to force you into his path or line of fire. Try to hold the top/middle of the map (the bottom of the map where Fector usually starts is a death zone). Position yourself on a diagonal in between his asterisk shot pattern (I prefer top middle left, but top middle right of the map also works) and try to get a few solid angle shots in with an upgraded gun or power up (The Wheel/Spray/Shotgun is useful with coffee to give you a boost & reduce Fector's speed advantage) before quickly moving to dispose of any unwanted minions (In priority order: Imps/Butterflies/Moths, Armoured goblins/Undead, goblins. The trappers/bombing goblins (?) can usually be left to their own devices at the bottom of the map unless They or Fector charge you). Keep moving, ideally in circular anti - clockwise motion pausing briefly in between Fector's asterisk shot to get some free hits in/ dispose of any imps or nearby minions. If you're lucky and have the right equipment/ enough ammo, Fector should go down fairly quickly - the problem is surviving long enough to get your shots in.
Finally, make use of the save glitch (?) to keep your hard earned progress as you don't want to be having to go through it again. If you can hard save your game file (via sleeping in the farmhouse) after completing a stage or beating Fector even better.
Or you can just use a mod if you are still struggling.
I still maintain the opinion PK is much easier than Junimo Kart, although lots of people find it the other way round.
Next challenge: beat this game untouched.
