My friend got this on xbox game pass, can i do multiplayer with them thru steam?

I was looking to get this game for steam but am not sure if there is cross platform multiplayer with xbox game pass

Cross-platform multiplayer isn't supported, so you can play together if they're playing the PC version through Game Pass, but not if they're playing on Xbox.
