Look up for mods, there are so many, maybe you'll find everything you need.
Like, the beach farm is very immersion breaking when you take the south trail into the woods and have to wonder where all that water went.
You must rely on mods I'm afraid.
On the beach farm you can. I have not tried the actual beach.
The trick is that you cant use sprinklers on the beach part of the beach farm, so crops may not be the best idea at first, or you will have to water manually a lot of your crops.
Later you can use deluxe retaining soil which stay watered.
Forest farm has a lack of farming space, and extra forage. So being closer to Marnie, the forest, and Secret Woods would make sense. Maybe an entrance between the traveling cart and the giant cherry(?) tree?
Hilltop farm would make sense north of the Joja Mart. There's a river, there's a cliff, and a shortcut could be added to the mines once they're unlocked.
The Wilderness farm should have easy access to the mines and desert, so... maybe an entrance somewhere near the bus stop? Like a cave you go through, "behind" the mountain path? Maybe the tunnel road west of the bus stop could have a path?
Riverlands... maybe the same spot as Hilltop farm?
And a river farm would put you closer to Clint's, the Museum, and just a little south of Jojamart, but a little further from the mountains and forest.
A forest farm might be a little more out of the way but that would just mean it's easier to get wood, fish, and forage but takes a little longer to reach town or the mines, plus the Wizard Tower and Secret Woods wouldn't seem so far out. I think next to the Cherry Tree would be a good compromise area, make it feel like it's really in the woods.
A mountain farm with a cave tunnel to access it could have easier access to the Mine's and easier access to the Caves and Quarry once it's unlocked, and maybe have a minecart right on the farm once repaired.
As you suggest the Wilderness Farm would be perfect for having easy access to the desert and mountain path but be a little more out of the way of town like it's name implies.
And maybe the Crossroads farm could fit north of Jojamart with easier access to the community center, south east side of the mountain lake, and Jojamart and the layout could basically just be flipped horizontally.
The main thing to balance would be the process of acquiring the new farms and greenhouses during the game, like what extra bundles might be needed if you go the community center route, or how much it might cost if you go the Jojamart route.
