If not, you might try the mod "CJB Item Spawner" (I think that's the name?) No item ID needed, just type in "watering can" and I think it'll let you add the tier of watering can you lost back to your inventory. You can immediately uninstall the mod after.
I've made sure over and over checking every chest, even ones I knew it'd never be. Just to be sure. My chest in the fruit cave. In the barn(I only have a barn). In the mine. Secret forest. All fishing spots. Next to the black smith and community center. On the beach. Every single chest, non left unchecked.
I've never downloaded a mod before.. seems very complicated but I might have to.
Do you know of any tool item codes? Because I'm pretty sure they're a myth at this point, lots of weeds though.
This guide can walk you through installing SMAPI and mods. Even if you uninstall the mod afterward, SMAPI can be nice to have, as it automatically creates backups of your saves and can be useful for troubleshooting.

And this is where you can download the CJB Item Spawner mod. You just need to make a free account. There's a premium option, but it's not required.

I'll defiantly give the mods a chance and if this ever happens again I wont have to worry.
Thanks again!
Do you know if there's a version that's compatible with the 'compatibility branch', does SMAPI help prevent that, or do I just hope the game wont glitch out?
Um, I wouldn't need to uninstall SMAPI to switch over to compatibility when I don't need it, will I? To be safe in case of black screens or whatever non-compatibility can cause.
I was thinking that might be a good idea to have that around, and switch back in case I ever lose a tool again. Do you think it'd be okay? I've never played with mods before, and SMAPI and the whole Nexus mods stuff's all completely new for me.
