Who here hates fishing as much as me?
Title says it all. It's a pain trying to level it up. But I am determined.

If you purchase a training rod, you should have an easier time catching fish. However, you can only catch basic fish this way, but it can make for a nice way to level up before using any of the other rods.

I honestly just try to keep all my skills at the same level. But I keep neglecting my farm

Fishing is the only thing in game that rewards player skill, but only during early game.
If you still want to level up fishing without doing it, you can use crab pot but it might take forever.

I love it. I am using a mod to make it even more challenging (and also raising the profit) ^.^

Don't care for it at all. Once the community center is complete I usually ignore it.

Just wait - it will become easier with time.
Have a nice day!

For a game that is all about living a simple life, escaping your daily stress etc, fishing is

I enjoy it enough. I'm currently working on a challenge run that relies heavily on Fishing for income.

My Mining perks give me more money from gems... but that's still only like 5k per day tops. My Quarry is filled with maple trees that I'm slowly building tappers for... but that's currently only 6k per week. I'm not Farming at all.

I'm slowly building up a massive slime ranch. In the meantime, I can go Fishing and earn like 9k per day. I'm fishing a LOT to buy iridium sprinklers, to build more fish ponds and slime hutches, to upgrade my equipment...

I am also focusing heavily on fishing on my current run :> Super fun! But also annoying sometimes. Like I spent a whole day trying to catch lava eels and I only got ONE ò.ó Rest was trash. Though I have been able to make a lot of wood out of those driftwoods :brownchicken:

Fishing can be annoying until you get the hang of it. I still think it is one of the more annoying parts of the game, though.

Except for festivals, I don't think I've done any fishing since I completed the fish collection. There are better ways to make money when you get to that point.

You can catch lava eels somewhat more commonly at the end of the volcano dungeon. I always try to catch my lava eel from the mines during Linus's "fish up garbage" quest, because it makes it way easier and faster to do both at once.

If you get a lava eel pond, though, they'll reproduce over time! Free spicy eels and good priced roe!

I'm super disappointed the new fish in 1.5 aren't worth that much. I wish it was an endgame fishing area, but instead it's... almost exactly the same profit as fishing at home. I'm fishing there on my off days just to get a few walnuts, mainly, but after I get them all then there's no real incentive to ever go back. :S Once I get my fish ponds, tree tappers and slime hutches up and running, though, there won't be any real reason to properly fish anymore, other than just for fun. It just takes forever to get up and running.

I think each hutch costs 20k, for the construction and sprinkler, and then has to wait for the eggs to hatch and breed more. Fish ponds also take basically a full season to fill up. Robin is working around the clock on my farm while I'm demolishing the mines to get more tree tappers and, eventually, a ton of solar panels. :D

Ah, I haven't reached that point yet on my current run but that's a good tip (thanks). I tend to forget about the top of the volcano o.o I am actually using a mod called Fishing Made Easy Suite[www.nexusmods.com] and like the name suggests you can make fishing a lot easier if you are struggling with it and also harder if you want more challenge and this is why I am currently using it. I have increased the difficulty and also the actual profit from the fishes :> It's only fair I should earn more money if fishies are harder than normal to catch. But you can also just increase the profit if you want to (I have it on +300% at the moment).

I also wish there was MORE types of fishes on Ginger Island o.o The ones present are pretty, but not very challenging and I think there could have been a few more types :> But I am not gonna complain. The popular expansion mods (like expanded and ridgeside) adds more fishies. Good luck with those slimes :slimehappy:

At first the Fishing in this Game was the worst part of the Game to me, but now i got used to it and its not as hard anymore.
esturias Feb 24, 2022 @ 12:54pm
Fishing is pretty simple. It's just pressing a single button. Still quite enjoyable for the time you need to catch all the different fishes. The treasures you can find are pretty good, too.
I mostly ignored it after I completed the community center, but I still have to catch the legendary fishes. Didn't care about those yet.
