Good thing game pauses when eating food.
Oh trust me I did have a lot of food, I just can't scroll to it I have to click on the item first so it takes way more time to eat something
For that reason i use hotkeys to instantly switch to my food.
And heal when i'm at Yellow health not orange not red but yellow. It gives me extra hit or two if i fumble when selecting food.
I also keep all my essentials on single hotbar and on closest numbers when caving.
My Terraria habbits been quite helpful in this game too xD
Aside from food which has already been mentioned, the slime charmer ring is by far one of the best items to get in the entire game, as it protects you from all slime damage and debuffs.
Ah, I play with a controller, so I have to use the bumpers to cycle through my items which isn't exactly the easiest thing for me to do.
Can you select items from inventory menu at least?
I noticed items can be selected in the inventory when game is paused so you can instantly use them once you unpause.
Not sure how this works with a controller tho.
Ya I thought so too, but when I had the option to recover my items, It had the items I had lost previously, the only things I had lost this time around where the prismatic shards my iridium and some stone, but it had options for bombs and seeds and other things that i didn't pass out with
If you can, I also suggest you deposit any valuable items you may not need on your journey in a storage chest so you won't lose them. You can easily place one right outside the entrance to the mines. (no NPCs walk inside, so it's safe to place them there)
That would make sense, but no biggy I have some crystalariums making jade to trade for stairs, so I can get pretty far quickly
