I could be wrong but OP might be refering to slime ball production in the Hutch.
Since OP mentions the Slime Hutch and asked if different color slimes "produce" not "drop" more slime when raised in the Slime Hutch.

for me it looked like he also asked what difference there was in haveing the different colors (because his last sentence) , so i implyed with my response that there is no difference in slimeball drops but in the possible drops when you "slaughter" your slime "cattle" and backed it up with the link.
because normaly noone woud build the hut only for the balls that you already get drowned in when visiting the mine onetimes.

you would be right. im trying to make purple slime eggs so i need a lot of slime.

if purple slime make more, i would farm them to make more purple slime eggs to sell

Different colour slimes drop different items once you defeat them, which is whyI'd strongly advise saving those purple slime eggs for later on. They allow you to hatch purple slimes much like the ones found in the skull cavern, which have a chance to drop iridium ore or even bars. They're especially great for raising outdoors once you make your own slime incubator since there's no limit to how many slimes you can have outside.

There are other ways to get more slime. The travelling cart has a chance to carry them in stock. Krobus also sells 50 slime for 10g each on Mondays. In addition, all slimes found in the mines, skull cavern and the volcano have a 1% chance to drop an egg of their respective colour.

I do have a Slime Hutch question of my own if i may?
If i hatch Blue Slime and Red Slime will they over time breed fully fledged Purple Slimes?

Cause i noticed some of my slimes getting their colors slightly mixed when they cross breed.

I don't think so. Slime colours work on RGB values instead of RYB values, which explains why slimes naturally come in red, green and blue varieties and their respective coloured eggs. Mixing the two colours you mentioned earlier may result in more of a magenta/pink colour instead, which isn't quite the purple colour needed for iridium drops.

Yeah, I'd recommend just waiting until you have a few purple slime eggs either though the egg press or from random drops and then hatch those instead.

Oh i see. Thanks for the info.

the color mix comes from the randomicer that kicks in at crossbreeds, also explained at the site linked be me above.
acording to the list a purple slime needs over 150R and over 180B, with under 25G
so yep, your idea to use red and blue ones seems correct, problem is how the game determines the color of offsprings, still a lot of rng in that.

I've only ever used green or blue, but I always seem to get around 60-65ish slime per day.

This is a long, but fascinating, read for anyone interested in breeding slimes for their loot. Even has screenshots to show the "optimal" slime breeding pen.

Even though I have a different combination of slime colours thanks to cross-breeding, I typically end up with roughly the same amount per day, assuming I have 20 slimes in the Hutch. I ended up with roughly the same amount even when I had them all the same colour, regardless of the colour used. That should answer the original topic's question.

So yeah, the only difference between slime colours seem to be their loot drops, with IMO the purple slimes being the best choice to use considering their iridium drops being one of the easiest sources of iridium late-game, especially when raised outdoors due to the lack of a population limit making it well worth it in the long term. :slimehappy: :slimehappy:

Is it really worth it for the iridium?
Considering there are way better sources of the stuff late game.
I feel like i have more iridiun than i will ever use without even trying.

I just made the Slime Hutch for funsies lol

I'd say so, considering if you let them multiply over a long period of time then start killing them once there's a lot of them, you can easily get about 250 iridium ore at the very least while still having plenty of purple slimes left. Then you can let them keep breeding and start the whole process again. :slimehappy:

If you end up with too much iridium, you can always sell it since they're worth a lot of gold.
