Please add Red Cabbage Seeds at the Night Market in year 1
Red Cabbage is the only item needed to complete Community Center which is not regularly available in year 1.

There is a chance to find the seeds randomly as a drop in Skull Cavern or at the Traveling Cart, but the chance is very very low.
If choosing "Guarantee Year 1 Completable" from Advanced Options when starting a new game, the Traveling Cart will sell a Red Cabbage Seed sometime during year 1. However this means that the player has to check the Traveling Cart every Friday and Sunday with enough cash available until the seeds appear. There are ca 32 + 3 Traveling Cart days per year, so this can be a lot of effort for a single otherwise pointless item.

I would suggest to regularly add the Red Cabbage Seed to the Night Market in year 1 so that players who focus on completing the Community Center have a fixed date to purchase the seeds. The player still needs to have unlocked the greenhouse to be able to plant the seeds before summer in year 2.

there are cheat mods that let you have any seeds you want. but what you are asking for is not going to happen, The game is complete.

If you use the Remixed Bundles, it's possible to either a) not get the Dye bundle that requires the cabbage seed, or b) get different items in the dye bundle.

Why would you need any of those things from the cart?

If you are rushing you need Red Cabbage, as the op is expressing frustration with, and possibly Holly, but only if you are trying to complete the Community Center in Fall and playing with remixed bundles and get unlucky (but not so unlucky that you also get the Master Fisher bundle).

It is actually quite easy to trigger the Traveling Cart to have the seeds. No need for a cheat tool or mod :

Wait for a Friday or Sunday.
(Make a backup of your save file.)
Open the save file with a text editor like Notepad++.
Search for "visitsUntilY1Guarantee", change value to
<visitsUntilY1Guarantee>0</visitsUntilY1Guarantee>

Now the Traveling Cart should have the seed. (May cost up to 1000 G.)

It would help a bit if SDV would remember last game's settings so that the player not always has to check options like year 1 guarantee or skip intro when starting a new game.

If the red cabbage is the last CC item missing, then the player has already unlocked the bus, the greenhouse and probably has started a star fruit wine economy and is doing skull cavern runs on good luck days. In that case red cabbage is an item which really is only planted for completing quests and achivements but not for economical reasons. So there would be no harm to make it available at the Night Market in year 1.

I just did it for research purpose ... and to correct a mistake when setting up the game. When I started the game I forgot to check the year 1 guarantee, so the value was :
<visitsUntilY1Guarantee>-1</visitsUntilY1Guarantee>
(I often just play year 1 spring and summer, so I usually do not care for the guarantee.)

I had finished everything else for CC at the start of winter including getting 2 rabbit feet and 2 prismatic shards, so why need to wait 2 more seasons for a single item which becomes available in summer year 2 anyway?

Wasn´t there a setting right when creating the save file where you had the option to turn on, that the travelling merchant would guaranteed have red cabage seeds in year 1? I believe so

Checking the traveling cart doesn't take much time in my opinion. I always do it even when I am not looking for the red cabbage cause I'm a shoppaholic lmao :brownchicken:

If you don't want to check traveling cart just do skull cavern. Red cabbage seeds got added as monster drops, too. It's nowhere near a problem anymore unlike how it used to be.

The chance for a treasure with Red Cabbage Seeds in Skull Cavern is 1/702 (= 0.14%).
The chance for a mummy or serpent dropping them is similar low : 0.2%
Purple slime has a 0.5% chance.
(The chance to get an auto-petter or a prismatic shard from a treasure is 1/26 which is 27 times higher than the chance for the Red Cabbage Seeds.)

So there is a small chance to get the seeds in Skull Cavern but there is no guarantee. It's just RNG. For a good chance you would have to slay 500-1000 mummies, serpents and slimes, but in usual skull cavern runs you try to go deep and actually avoid monsters since they cost too much time. A possible strategy would be to go to Skull Cavern on a good luck day, farm monsters to get the seeds and restart the day as often as needed until the seeds drop, but that still can turn out as a huge waste of time and no fun depending on RNG.

I believe it's been mentioned, but there is an option to guarantee either the seed or cabbage is available year 1.

Nothing is stopping you from using MouseyPounds' Stardew Predictor. It doesn't take long to figure out exactly what day the Cabbage will be available.
