When to grow fruit trees?
Does anyone know when to plant fruit trees? Do you plant a summer fruit tree on Spring Day 1? (should I go 2 months in advance?) I'm currently on Spring Day 1 (year 2) any suggestions? Thanks

It's up to you.

You can plant it three months in advance if you want and don't need the gold.
You can plant it one month in advance to get a full harvest when the fruit is in season.
You can plant it in the middle of the previous month and still get half a season's harvest.

Fruit trees barely generate any money, so it doesn't really matter. They're more decorative than anything else.

Though if you didn't pick the Fruit Bats you might want an Apple tree for the Community Center.

The sooner you plant them the better, as they need time just to fully grow before they start producing fruit. You would not want to wait until summer begins to plant summer fruit trees, for example.

Yeah I chose the mushroom cave. The trees are more for completing the community center at this point. Although I would like a stream of fruit on the side, just to have for recipes/etc. If I plant a tree and have pavement surrounding the 8 block free zone, can anything stunt its growth and cause it to grow slower? Also, do you need to water them?

You do not need to water them, no. Generally nothing will interfere with the growth, though a lightning strike can on rare occasions delay fruit production.

You'll have to settle for the "etc", then. There are pretty much no recipes that require tree fruit. I think one requires Apples?

As long as the 8 tiles around the tree are free, it should grow just fine.

If you're looking at fruit trees, you probably don't have the Greenhouse, but if you do, you can grow them in there. They'll produce all year long.

Yeah if I were you I would just get the greenhouse fixed up and then use that for fruit trees around the outer perimeter. You can plant all of them at once and then just grab a few of whatever you need whenever the need arises.

Yes, the thing you just need to be careful of is when you're planting another tree nearby. It can not be like this:

x T x T x

But must instead be like this:

x T x x T x
