Planting Fruit Trees Late
Got a quick question: What happens if you're a few days late and plant a fruit tree? As in planting an apple tree on Summer 3rd or similar? Do you miss out on apples for three days in Fall or for the entire year?

I searched the guides and looked at the wiki, but I couldn't find a conclusive answer.

Fruit Trees in general will grow to maturity in all 4 seasons, but they only produce in their respective season unless you plant them in a greenhouse in which case they grow fruit year round. They do take a Full Season (28 days) to mature, so yes you would miss out on 3 days of harvest if you don't plant them at them a full season before.

That's acceptable. I wasn't sure I could afford the trees before I did the first summer planting and there was a wedding, so it hit Summer 3 before I remembered I needed apples for the Community center bundles.

Thanks for clearing it up! It's my first play, so I'm making all kinds of newbie mistakes. It's fun, I like this game.

But I need fruits to unlock the greenhouse. Unless I get really lucky with the caravan, I'm in a catch-22. Need apples to get the greenhouse to make a lot of apples.

But yes, I'll make a ring of trees in the greenhouse when I get it.

That's how I do it -- In spring 1, i plant an orange and a peach tree to mature in the summer. In summer, plant an apple and a pomegranate to mature in the fall.

Meanwhile, you're working on the fall crops bundle and the quality crops bundle, which give you a bee house and a preserves jar, which get you honey and jelly.

And you have your six artisan goods for the artisan bundle -- four fruits plus jelly and honey..

I did, yes. I didn't like how my farmer looked, and apparently the only way to change your shirt is to befriend the Wizard. Who loves purple mushrooms. So, mushroom cave.

That is probably my favorite bit of video game logic I've seen in a while.
