the only thing that does matter is which type of geode you break, e.g. the 10th geode you break might have copper ore if its a regular geode but gold if it's a magma geode.
there are tools to look up the rewards before you open them, but generally i wouldn't worry too much about it until your museum is fairly filled up, then it can be quite useful to not miss out on a mineral/artifact.
I think I saw someone say that the mood actually affects whats inside the geodes though? With good luck you get better stuff? But it doesn't matter when I actually prosess them, just which day I gather those geodes? I'm only starting here, and have yet not discovered other uses for geodes than breaking them down at blacksmith's.
Oh that clears it up, thanks a bunch
Dont remember the site to see that though, you'll have to look the forum for it.
It's not just useful for planning which geodes to crack when; it will reveal many other things set by your Stardew Valley Save's random seed, including:
- what the Travelling Cart, Krobus, Sandy, and General Store roating stock will contain for any day
- when trains and night events will show up for any month
- What the garbage cans will dispense for any month
- Who your Winter Star gift recipient and gift giver are for any year
- What you need to do to force particular Enchantments on particular tools
- What color and direction your Ginger Island gem birds are
I wouldn't use a site to determine whats inside that just strikes me as wrong considering you can always get more omni geodes.
like going to an outside site like that is the same as just adding the item into my inventory
pretty darn useful when you need just 1-2 more items for the museum when the item you are after only shows up every 20-40 geodes. (and god forbid you don't even look up which geode the item you need is from, then you're never completing that museum.)
don't think there is some end game way to help with that situation either.
Non-competitive game. Unless player decides to enter the competitive scene, use of any and all tools any player wants to use requires no justification.
I'm well aware that these type of sites exist, but knowing myself I will probably start to check everything out, and that leads to planning too much and not enjoying the game in itself. Same as looking for a whole plot for the movie before seeing the actual art. So it's a slippery slope with these sites for me. I know they will get in handy later on, but I think I just try to keep asking stupid questions instead of figuring too much out too early on. It's not like you get to be a virgin all over again!
