Mod Disabled Achievements?
I installed a mod recently, then noticed one of my achievements didn't trigger. Was is because of the mods? I used SMAPI if that makes any difference. I uninstalled my mods afterwards because I figured it was the cause. Did my achievements just not trigger because I had already created the world before installing the mod and continued to play it, or have my achievements been turned off because of the mod? If so, is there a way to turn them back on?

Also, now that the mod is gone should I create a new world and try to get the same achievement and see if it works?

I have a lot of mods. They never were resposible for not getting any achievements.

I honestly have no clue what's going on with your save. Try out a new save and use the CBJ cheat mod to cheat yourself 1 million gold to verify if your game isn't broekn when it ccomes to achievements.

I also have lots of mods and I also get achievements.
The thing is with SMAPI you can play the game with or without Steam open.
If you play without Steam open in the background, you wont get the achievements.
But if you leave Steam open in the background, and still open the game with SMAPI on your desktop, you should still get the achievements.

I can also confirm that it's probably not due to mods. This sometimes happens for no apparent reason, even when playing through Steam. This post explains a couple ways to get missed achievements to unlock in Steam: https://forums.stardewvalley.net/threads/how-to-unlock-missed-steam-achievements.6026/

Mods can alter achievement conditions (e.g., if using a mod that adds cooking recipes, they will also be counted for cooking achievements). I've never heard of a mod disabling any achievements entirely, but I suppose it's possible. Cosmetic mods wouldn't affect achievements at all unless the mod author mistakenly altered something other than image files.

It's most likely just a random occurrence, as it's an extremely common issue with this game. And it's a simple thing to check; if the achievement is unlocked in-game (which can be viewed in the Collections menu) but not in Steam, it's not a mod issue. If an achievement is not unlocked in game, but you're certain that you've met the conditions, then I would begin looking at your mod list.

I have also never had a mod disable achievements and I have used a lot of gameplay altering mods. A bit curious about what mods actually states that they affect achievements?

This mod is a good example, as one of its uses is to remove mod content from achievement requirements: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/8026

I don't know of any mods that actually disable achievements though. I can't imagine how/why one would, unless it were to add a crafting recipe that's not actually possible to acquire or something like that.

Ah I see now that I should have used "disable" instead of "affect". But that was also a new mod for me, the one you provided a link for. I have not seen a mod where the author states that it will disable achievements. I do know the achievement system can be a bit bugged sometimes (both in game achievements and those for steam). I have had to restart my game sometimes for the social achievements to pop. Not sure if and what mod may be causing it but I remember having some issues with those in my very first vanilla playthrough as well. But that was when the game was at 1.4 o.o Both in game achievements and steam achievements had some sort of hiccup it seemed.

Mods do not disable achievements, however depending on which achievement you're going for, it's possible one of your mods has added onto the requirements for it. For instance, I have a mod that adds new crop and one that adds new fish, and in order to get the Polyculture and Master Angler achievements, I also had to ship 15 of all of the modded crops, and catch all of the modded fish.

Yes i added mods that added new recipes and I had to cook all the recipes to get the achievement...... took a long time because I had to LEARN the recipes first, which meant watching TV or buy them when available. .. took a whole year,
