Lava Eel Help

So I caught my first Lava Eel after only a few attempts (thank god) and was excited to put it in my fish pond. I threw it in, the Lava Eel disappeared?! Didn't even say there was a fish in.

Luckily, I caught my next Lava Eel shortly after in my 2nd attempt, but I'm still scared to toss the darn thing back into the pond, for it to go missing again. I don't wanna go through that whole ordeal again. Anyone knows what happened?

Well Lava eel can go in the fish pond, as long as the pond was empty first.
Suggestion: go to sleep and save, then try first thing in the morning.
If it happens again, close game and retry after fresh load.
Also check for error messages if it happens again.

Note, If you had other fish in the pond before , be sure to right click on the pond and click the empty button to clear the pond first.
