trash bear

I dont know if this is a bug or not but the trash bear will not accept the bream I'm trying to give him. Can anyone help? Is this a bug?

Are you sure he wants a bream ? It may be a fish that looks nearly the same.

the only blue fish that i know of that is from near him is the bream. Does anything you give him come from outside his area? I thought it was items from nearby.

The bear asks for a fish from the current season not just that area. I would open the wiki and look at the fish page for a match.

It looks like an exact match for a bream and breams are in every season. I will try other fish. The bear isnt out right now probably because of the rain.

And yeah, I'm pretty sure he can request anything edible. He asked me for seafoam pudding, in Spring, and I think you can only get 1 of the 3 ingredients for that in Spring... Luckily I'm a hoarder. ;D

Thanks for all the help. I never did find out what fish it wanted but when summer came it switched to another more identifiable fish.

It's a racoon, not a bear.

First, bears don't have a tail.
Second, bears are not mentioned anywhere in the very popular meme "The trash panda"
Third, the trash panda has a tail exactly like the one in the game.

Seriously, between:
1) An animal that has anatomically nothing to do with the one on screen and is not too famous for collecting trash
and
2) An animal which mostly fits what depicted in game, mask aside, and is famous for hoarding trash
people keep thinking that the first one is the right one.

Maybe it's because the creator of the game called it a Trash Bear? Raccoons also aren't 7 feet tall and have magical powers, so it's... obviously not a normal animal. I don't know why you'd act so pretentious over a fictional magical creature in a cute farming game. If anything, it looks more like a tanuki, which is a sort of mix between a raccoon, bear, and dog, which seems to be larger and fatter than racoons while still having a similar face and tail.

For those who do not know, "trash bear" is a colloquial nickname for raccoons in some areas because 1) they get into your trash and 2) they can get surprisingly large and will attack you if you mess with them. A cuter alternative is "trash panda."
