seaweed + green algae for fish ponds
does anyone know how to quickly get these items by fishing? like, are there any factors that increase the chances of fishing the seaweed and green algae?

seaweed can be fished from the ocean. green algae just go to lv20 in the normal mines. fishing on unlucky day will yield more non-fish. also beginner rod will be "worse" thus catch more seaweed+green algae. Overall I never had to fish for these items because I always stored them (also for cooking), but shouldn't be hard at all to get enough for fish ponds since they only require 5 of each.

Kronos's sewer also good for green algae

Green slimes frequently drop green algae, so I just had a bunch saved from mining. Seaweed is tricky, but it can sometimes show up in the tide pools on the beach, like coral does. I'm not sure if a beginner's fishing rod catches more trash or not, but it might be worth a try... Otherwise, I guess try beach fishing on a horrible luck day.

Also some of the fish ponds occasionally give seaweed and green algae. I got some from my Lobster Snail and Slimejack ponds. So if you are building a lot of fish ponds maybe start with those?

The Lake in Cindersap Forest, next to where the Traveling Cart parks, is an easy way to get algae. There aren't a lot of fish that spawn there--smallmouth bass and pike, that's it--and so you will catch a lot of algae and trash when fishing there. That where I went to fish for algae to build the ponds.

Also try fishing of whatever water you have on your farm.

I spent 12pm-10pm fishing for 2 days and got 9 and 10 seaweed, so it's not THAT hard to farm it yourself, as long as you can sacrifice a day or two. 2 days of fishing got me enough seaweed for 4 fish ponds, which will take 2 days to build, I think. So 2 days fishing got me 8 days or so of construction materials.
I usually take a while to upgrade from the basic rod, and since fishing is the easiest source of income in the early game I fish all the time so I can quickly get money for tool and backpack upgrades (as well as rare seeds and strawberry seeds). Even after eating like 75% of the green algae and seaweed I get, I still end up with so much on top of exploring the mines. I don't think it should be that hard, just use the basic rod.

I'm the same at the beginning of the game. The trick is just to save the seaweed/green algae you get with the limited space available. In previous versions I'd usually eat or trash it. Now it's potentially pretty valuable.
