However i second the trap bobber i allows for some mistakes. Some people swear by the cork bobber but personally i feel the trap one is more useful.

The rest is up to you and luck, the same fish can have different patterns, so sometimes it'll be harder to catch and sometimes easier.
With a little luck, patience and practice it's certainly doable. But if all else fails, there are mods out there to specifically make fishing easier.
So if you have fishing at ten, you can actually raise it to 16 with hat, shirt, and that white fish soup that adds +4.
then knowing the best places and time to catch them makes it easier as well.
