How to catch the legendary fish?

So you might know what I mean, it's moving really fast and I don't seem to be able to catch it. It's really frustrating

to catch a legendary fish you basically are required to have a trap bobber on your fishing rod and make sure you eat a dish that ups your fishing stats apart from that its all skill

Well they do have different behaviors some legendary fish are easier to catch than others.

However i second the trap bobber i allows for some mistakes. Some people swear by the cork bobber but personally i feel the trap one is more useful.

Maximizing your fishing skill by any means available to you helps. This includes leveling to 10 eating buff food, and if unlocked enchanting your fishing rod. Every level makes that bar a little bit bigger.

The rest is up to you and luck, the same fish can have different patterns, so sometimes it'll be harder to catch and sometimes easier.

With a little luck, patience and practice it's certainly doable. But if all else fails, there are mods out there to specifically make fishing easier.

there is a pirate hat that adds one to fishing skill, and a couple of shirt options that also adds to fishing skill.
So if you have fishing at ten, you can actually raise it to 16 with hat, shirt, and that white fish soup that adds +4.
then knowing the best places and time to catch them makes it easier as well.

Hats and shirts don't have stats in vanilla. It wouldn't hurt to double-check things on the wiki when giving advice about vanilla gameplay since you use so many mods.

true. I do use the corck boober sadly at the moment I don't have the material to craft another one.
