I have too many children
so because I'm using the multiple spouse mod, I have lots of children. I started out in the first year having 4 children, all which grew into toddlers.
I then installed the Child to NPC mod to get them to grow up. It came with several glitches, and while they all grew up into school aged children, they also dissappeared from my social list. In trying to fix the errors that occurred two of the middle children when back to wearing toddler outfits, while the oldest and youngest of the first 4 are wearing clothes, and wander around town, and go to school.
I can see and interact with all 4 of them and they still live in my house on the farm, but none of them are on the social friendship list so I cant see how many hearts they have for me.

However all of them are on the Relationship list on the CJB cheats menu.

Now that my farm is in the second year, my many wives are having more children, Right now there are 5 babies in the crib. Thats right five babies in one crib. They are ALL ON my social friendship list and each have 2 hearts.

What i need to know is, what will happen as the new 5 babies age up to toddlers and children NPC's.
And is there a way for me to delete ONE child at a time?????
Although I still get an error message about Bradley (and none of the others), he is the oldest (first born) and works fine as an npc, goes to school and talks to me. He even sits at a desk in the little red school house. The same goes for Ringo,

So how can i get rid of one child at a time, eliminate the ones that are not working right and keep the others.

Can try this: https://www.stardewvalleywiki.com/Dark_Shrine_of_Selfishness

Not sure if it works with your mods tho.

What is going on in your house? ò.ó
Are the spouses having babies with each other or are you the parent to all of them?
I wouldn't know where to begin here. But I second the suggestion above me @.@

the Dark Shrine will delete ALL of my children at once, you dont get to pick and choose which ones to delete.
That's why I've been asking if there is a way to get rid of one child at a time.

Well all my spouses kiss each other and fool around in bed together in the middle of the day sometimes, but my character is the parent of all the children.
most recently I had 3 wives ask to have a baby 3 nights in a row, and sure enough 3 babys were born in 3 days the next month.

I know you love the mods ... but ... you might be pushing what the engine can handle ...

lol, well thats the idea, I'm testing them out. There are several i installed and then deleted when they didn't work, or I didn't like the results. I don't know how to mod myself, and I've learned a lot about installing mods and compatibility.

I tested out several greenhouse mods before deciding I liked Ellie's spacious green house best because it has a second room that holds 48 trees. With the Automation mod, I placed a chest in front of every tree, and then added a keg, a preserving jar, and lemonade machine around each tree after it was grown, so all wine making/etc. is now fully automated and organized in its own chest. A sign by each tree helps me find the fruit i want quickly. And of course I planted the trees alphabetically...

I tested out several Shed expansion mods before I decided I liked the Warehouse mod, version T1. I now have a huge ware house, organized to make every ground crops into wines, juice & jam or pickles, with signs for easy organization and all in alphabetical order, as well as separate rooms for forging ores, making perfumes, making cheese & mayo, as well as the full set of jewelry machines. Its a full factory with lots of space without looking cluttered.

I tested out several cellar mods before settling on POOKACU'S cellar for best organized wine aging, without cluttering up the cellar with other things. Each type of wine has its own chest with 3 casks and a sign, of course there is room to organize it alphabetically too.

I tested out a few house expansion mods, but decided I liked the original vanilla version best, and I don't need to clutter the house with production machines. Didn't like the idea of accessing the second floor by a ladder. and since spouses and children wont sleep in beds placed in other rooms, it made no sense to add an upstairs.

The one thing that disappointed me about this game since I first started to play several years ago was the fact that children NEVER grew up, and you could only get rid of them by turning them into doves. That's just not right. You build a home, a farm and a family, and then your family is stuck in a Time limbo...... nothing develops after that. So when I discovered modding, I looked for mods to grow the children, Since there are mods there, I'm not the only one who didn't like the toddlers ...... I had 4 children of my own, all boys, and I spend 7 years changing diapers and 4 years going thru the TERRIBLE TWO'S stage of child raising. I didn't like a game where you get stuck in the toddler stage FOREVER.

So I've tested out ALL the child aging mods I could find...... and they need improvement, have glitches , or just plain don't work very well. or cause errors that make the game crash.
Reminds me of another game I played .... Harvest Moon .... worked hard to build up a wealthy farm, raised only one child, then you die and the game is over....... If you child inherits your farm ( the way you did to begin the game) why cant you continue to play on your farm???

OH, note: all the mods I mentioned above work well together and are fully compatible with SVE. I currently have over 60 mods working well together and my laptop has no problem handling them all. ( I have 16GB RAM)
The only thing I'm still having error messages with are the Child to NPC mods, as i mentioned at the start.

SOOOO.... If any of you great modders out there can make me a child aging mod that works well with multiple children, sending them to school, turning them into teenagers, then adults with jobs...... well that would really improve the game. Let me know what you think

Well I like the idea but I also think it might be asking too much from modders. I'm not even sure it such a project would be possible without remaking the entire game. Have you ever played a game called The Sims? I think you would like that game if you haven't. You can do exactly what you are asking in that game. It might not focus much on actual farming but you can certainly create and live on a farm :Pcow:

yes I played the sims, have it on steam, but i find it really slow. wish I still had the original sims on PC, but i lost the install disk. And the newer editions and additions are too expensive.
ChrillBill Oct 14, 2021 @ 10:49am
Slow?... You mean the actual life stages? I just don't think this game could handle that many new NPCs. Especially not considering how busy it is in your house :p You know that sound when windows xp crashed back in the day? Sound :brownchicken: That is what I see (and hear) when I think about this o.o
Queen Droxxanna Oct 14, 2021 @ 12:05pm
lol, yes my house was very full when I had 17 spouses and 4 children. I have started to divorce many of the spouses -- most of the men in town will no longer speak to me or accept gifts from me. I'm down to about 8 spouses now, but still have 4 children walking around and 5 babies in the crib..... keeping all the wives busy changing diapers. lol.
You can only divorce one spouse at a time, but you cant get rid of one child at a time.
ChrillBill Oct 14, 2021 @ 12:51pm
I have only used it once myself but I believe the Dark Shrine of Memory will wipe the memory of every divorced spouse! So that you can basically start over (befriend, gift etc). It only costs 30k if I remember correctly, but either way it isn't that large amount of money if you are far into the playthrough which I have gathered you are. You could also turn the children into doves and start over with a limited amount this time. It might not be fun but it is an option. I haven't found anything mod related that would allow one to turn just one kid into a dove.

turning all 9 children currently in my house at once ..... I'd have nightmares of the movie BIRDS, if they all came back to feast on my corps. That movie gave me bad dreams 50 years ago, and its not one you forget.
making my ex's forget how I hurt them by accusing them of cheating on me --- with my other spouses -- is something I have been thinking about. I just may do that. There is also a mod for that.
ChrillBill Oct 14, 2021 @ 2:16pm
I haven't seen that movie but I have heard of it. I don't think you have to worry about that though. I have only done this myself once over a total of fifteen playthroughs! I felt bad. But then I was like, it's better for them to be transformed into something else instead of just "erasing" them. That would be more horrifying I think. At least now they can fly off to live happily ever after. Or come back to pick your brains... Just kidding :D
