Lost War Memento

When I went back to Stardew Valley, i lost the war memento picture. I don't know how to retrieve it! Please help!

how have you lost it? you cant even get it out of your bagpack as long you dont give it to the targeted NPC. have you by any chance spiced tomato cream (or something nearly named like that) in your backpack? if yes you have given the Photo to the NPC who gives you the next queststeps item.

You can store it in chests, that is how I nearly lost mine, because I forgot in what chest I put it in.

When i went back to Stardew valley it was already out of my backpack. I dont know where it went. I haven't given it to anyone at all

I searched everywhere. Even my chests. Nothing! :(

were you able to fix the problem in the end? I think I stopped playing this game about three month ago for this very reason. I did not even realize that it is bugged. I just searched every chest and the lost and found and could not find it.

In most reports of this issue that I've seen, the item was subsequently found in either the lost and found box in Lewis' house or some other container that the player hadn't previously thought to check. I'm not entirely convinced that it's possible for it to be completely gone and unrecoverable under normal circumstances, as that's an issue that the lost and found box is specifically intended to prevent.

One thing you can try is opening your save file in a text editor and searching for the item there (Ctrl+F and search for "memento"). If it turns up any results, the item should still exist in-game somewhere. You could try to get an idea of where it might be (in-game) by looking at any items immediately before or after it in the data, or you could just search thoroughly in-game for any containers you may have missed. I've seen several cases in which the War Memento was found in a container in some obscure location that the player had entirely forgotten about (even a Junimo Hut in one case).

Otherwise, I would guess that quest items are included in the Item Spawner mod, but I've never used it myself.

It may also be worth mentioning that the War Memento isn't the only item used in this quest. I can't remember if the quest is updated in the Journal as each item is given and the next one is acquired, but you may want to keep an eye out for the other items as well (especially if the War Memento doesn't appear to exist in the save data): Gourmet Tomato Salt, Stardew Valley Rose, Advanced TV Remote, Arctic Shard, Wriggling Worm, and Pirate's Locket.

You can find lost items if you go to the stardew valley item finder website by max chernoff, just upload your save file and search your item and it will tell you where it is
