Driftwood

Why did I catch tons of driftwood (all of which I either gave to Leah or recycled) before my fish pond decided it needed driftwood but now I need it I haven't caught any for days?

Is there a good spot/time for driftwood? Should I use a weaker rod? Or is it totally random and I've just got to keep fishing and hoping?

Your own farms lake would be a good place for trash.

AFAIK which type of trash you get is random, so you can't farm for Driftwood specifically.

But you can maximize your odds of finding trash by fishing in polluted waters (your farm most likely has highly polluted water, only the River farm has clean-ish water) and casting as close to land as possible. Using a weaker rod will not help.

fish at level 100 in the mines, should get the 3 you need easily, if you are lucky you might get a lava eel or two as well

If it's not winter try fishing in the water outside the spa, if you did fish out all the secrets there should be nothing but trash left.
