I prefer the hammer and its broken mechanics though so again increase damage and crit to make basically everything one hit.
The dagger, with the new forge boosts and rings, is arguably the best weapon in the game though. You get like a 30-40% chance to crit, your special attack cools down immediately, and your special attack hits 3x. So you're getting a 90-120% chance of one-hitting any enemy in the game, every second. The only downside is that groups of enemies, like if you get surrounded by flying snakes, can be tricky. But everything else is nearly guaranteed to be a OHKO.
I still prefer the sword, personally.
Actually having 2 iridium bands already I did not feel like another damage bonus really make difference at this stage of game - while combine rings with slime charm and crabshell somehwo gave me more comfort with damage mitigation and sword added bit more over it- it is more notable in multiplayer where is no pause game in most scenarios so i feel somethow more vurneable (+ spending extra time in inventory or eating)
Though imho 3 rubies are possibly "best" choice I was quite satisfied with my setup.
Btw using weapon without the attack arc is useless imho - who care about some theory damage output - everything dies easily and everything that matters at this stage is drive off serpents coming form multiple directions in skull cavern progress.
Infinity Blade(s): +dmg +def +knockback (for some reason they always +10 to knockback), Crusader and Bug Killer.
Infinity Dagger(s): +dmg +crit chance +crit dmg, Crusader and Artful. Usually 1HKO anything with special attack.
Infinity Gavel: +spd +crit chance +crit dmg, Artful for spamming special attack
(Acrobat for Combat Route).
Ring Combination: Slime + Iridium band, Crabshell + Napalm Ring
