How did you tackle the cooking and crafting achievements?
The new update has content relative to these, but how did you go about completing these achievements without tearing your hairs out?

Did you find a guide and tick stuff off one by one?
Did you hoard everything in an effort to tackle it one day?
Do you just wing it one crafting recipe at a time?

I'm trying to go about this in such a way that I don't go mad.... So, I caught 1 of every fish to hoard away for a fish pond reproduction, I'm working on every single crop seed x25, and I have chests that I'll be placing any of the finished crafting/cooking pieces in. :brownchicken:

... Am I .... doing it right?

EDIT:

I appreciate you all mentioning guides and listing off what needs collected, but please understand how I posted this was moreso asking preference and what you're doing. I have spent hours and hours on the wiki, and have frequently looked at the file checker. I'm not saying that these aren't incredibly appreciated. Just note that the title says "How did YOU tackle [them]?" Thanks, y'all!

Well I didn't really stress about these things I just picked up 4 of each of the reproducing crops and planted them on the island plus 10 of each of the non reproducing crops to plant on the island. When I need more I just use the 4 Seedmakers I have on the island. For Fishing I just used the wiki to see when and where to catch them rather than guessing which made it really quite simple.

A more efficient way of checking what you need and what you have missed is with this website. It tells you everything you need to know about your save file for 100%

The crafting one isn't that bad. With 'show advanced crafting' in the options when you hover over something you can craft it will tell you how many you've made. If it doesn't say, you haven't made it. Unless you are missing recipes...

I just looked for a list of what fish are needed for recipes, and made sure I stockpiled the ones needed for it.

Idk about crafting recipes, many aren't season specific... Only one I can think of, aside from the forage, would be the fairy powder stuff...

I craft a few chests for storing the mats and the created items, ticking things off as i go.
I then use the mousey pound link from above and just work though them one by one

for cooking there are a few lists that show what you are needed available on the reddit site, helps with the seasonal veggies for example, some of them just needed updating for version 1.5 - I just found them with a google search

Tbh, I think other posters have answered your question for the vanilla version of SDV.

Although for some of the steam achievements NGL I'll use a mod to make life easier (if i wanted the mono-culture/poly-culture early game i.e. early spring Y1 as I'm lazy, then item spawner is rather handy, if a bit overkill - you can also easily include completing the crafting and cooking achievements by using this for the ingredients and trashing the excess, but it takes time to actually cook/craft in order to get the achievements and can be a real drag - I like to change activities to avoid endless repetition/boredom).

In terms of the crafting achievement I did that bit by bit as I went along - which seemed to fit nicely, giving me something to do in game if i'd already dealt with everything else for that day.

Regarding cooking, unless I HAVE to do it (a recipe for a quest or whatever), I always tend to leave it until later in the game (that way I know I should have all the needed ingredients to just box the achievement off in either one huge cooking session or less mind-numbing, easily manageable few cooking sessions.) Around the time of Ginger Island (once I've got the 2nd farm up and running).

Most of the other achievements are fairly easy to achieve with a bit of practice/patience.
The arcade game achievements can be a pain (PK is imo the easier of the two - I didn't need a mod for that - just practice. Junimo kart is another story - Mods all the way after seriously struggling with it.)

I just posted a guide on how to get the crafting achievement. You'll find it easily

I just found out that there's a "show advanced crafting information" checkbox in the options menu, which will show the crafted amount of an item in the crafting menu. That was a lifesaver at 97% crafting completion, I would've lost my mind trying to figure out which 3 items I hadn't made yet.
