Why does this game have no display options ?

Hi all why does this game have no display options or video options ?

thats exactly what i want to know how to do ... how do i set it for eatch game to make it think that monitor 2 for an example is the main one ?

I personally don't know how to do that on a per-game basis as I don't have a multi-monitor setup. If you simply want your second monitor to be the default primary display, this should be relatively easy to find in your display settings on your PC. If you're on Windows, you can find these settings by selecting Start > Settings > System. From there, you'll find display settings, including those for multiple monitors. That's where my knowledge ends.

This is probably not the best place to ask for this kind of help because this isn't a problem specific to SDV. I would recommend trying a general tech forum if you need further help with this, perhaps a PC gaming subreddit. You might have better luck there.

i know of this but thanks for the info i want to know if i can set for every game specificly so that when that specific game starts it automaticly goes to monitor 2 everytime i start it instead of doing the procces u guys sed everytime ..

Apparently, since you were the one that thought Stardew Valley was an anomaly, being the one random game on earth without display or video options, which turns out to actually mean the one option you wanted, which turned out to be in reality, you expected every game to be like Assassin's Creed Origin.

I have no idea why Assassin Creed has that option, but the vast majority of games don't have it because it makes no sense for that option to exist.

A game generates a video output. Someone with a multi-monitor setup would simply direct that video output to whichever monitor they like. It's easiest, simplest and safest for every party involved.

agreed, many games have that option (monitor 1, monitor 2, ect..), its a hassle when they dont, its was an option made to get around the windows limitation of games only being able to run on your main monitor in fullscreen, not sure why more game devs didnt adopt the option, especially since microsoft never bothered to address the issue.

but, to get around that..

1) simply set the game to windowed, move it to the screen you want, then set it back to borderless or fullscreen.

2) you can use ctrl + arrow key (arrow key for the direction of your second monitor).

3) make the monitor of choice the main monitor, by setting it up in your pc resolution options, but thats a big hassle as well.

1 and 2 are the better choice, 2 is the best choice.

I tried to help you. I even sent you a list options and you weren't able to pick one.

I am just trying to get you to understand that it's not a shortcoming that every game has different options. You know not every game has the same options. Coming here and asking the questions you have makes it seem like that you believe that because it doesn't have the one option you want, it doesn't have any. That's simply untrue. Your premise actually seems argumentative that the a small team fell short because he's not a AAA developer. There are other things they left out, too, like UPlay.

You didn't word it as a suggestion at all. You asked a question as if it were out of the ordinary for a game to not have this setting, which it is not. You even replied to several people as if your intention had been to ask for help. And you did and have continued to do so in a rather entitled and confrontational way, so are you really surprised that people have returned your rudeness?

Not every game is going to have this option, so you may as well learn to do it yourself instead of whining about it on the forum of every game you play which doesn't have it. Either way, this isn't an effective way to voice a suggestion.

It's an unnecessary option given that it can be done -easily- from outside the game for ANY game... Waste of coding time to build something into the game to do it, especially given that this game was literally designed and coded until very recently by ONE person.

For the devs mayby allots of headake but for players it would do wonders and again like i sed before if they had that option in game its mutch mutch esier than start the game windowed mode and then change screen and bla bla bla if u still dont get my point the nio need to type anymore bro .. and allso i dont know the recepie bro im just saying .. :)
