HELP! I can't play Simon Says (Ginger Island East)
If you're not sure which puzzle I'm referring to, it's the one in the cave above the Island Farm where you have to do Simon Says with the cystals that make the music notes. Is there any sort of trick to doing this, like an online guide for the possible sequences or anything, because I'm really struggling. Like, can't get past the second set of instructions consistently struggling.

The sequences are random. There isn't really any trick to it, you can use the sounds or the colored lights or both to remember which crystals to touch.

Every human has different capabilities so it's technically possible for someone to not be capable of doing it in its default form, however it apparently slows down if you fail it often enough (I can't personally confirm, got in on my 3rd try the first time I did it and on my first try the second time I did it).

If you just can't do it, well... it's not a big deal, it's entirely optional because you don't need all 136 Golden Walnuts to unlock everything. Unless you're going for Perfection, then you either have to keep at it until you get it.

It does indeed slow down after several failures. It took me awhile to finally get it, and I had to get lucky on an easy pattern after it slowed down.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

doing it while recording it might help you out

I thought about that but someone in another thread said there's a time limit. It's probably very long (most other people, myself included, weren't even aware there was a limit) but you would have to be quick with the replaying.

Also, it's cheating, so many players might have an issue with it.

I used that method even though it took 2-3 .... I couldn't help but use this method because at that time there was no update yet to slow down the puzzle if it failed several times.

It took me multiple game days before I somehow managed it. Utterly awful.

because some people struggled ConcernedApe added in 1.5.1 so that when you fail it becomes easier and easier. On a second save I tested on purpose to fail many times and it seriously got ridiculously easy, so just keep trying until you got it.
Also: the walnuts from this puzzle are not needed, there are plenty of other walnuts.

Well, i think you need that walnut for perfection score, if im not wrong

true, if you attempt to 100% everything then the puzzle is "needed". I was more talking from a casual standpoint who just wants to experience all content without the hardcore goal of 100% everything (I assumed people who go for 100% are the types of players who would try the puzzle persistently anyways).
