Fullscreen Resolution Issues - SOLVED

Stardew Valley has had it's share of fullscreen resolution since launch date. But there are new issues popping up, and the 'old solutions' no longer fix it. Here's a few methods you should try.

Do NOT change your High DPI Compatibility settings! This was my first attempt, and only complicated matters worse. If you've changed this, then un-check the box under properties>compatibility and try these methods below.

Resolution was fine but now you can't see edges/click 'options'?
This could be an easy fix, first try to simply change your preferred resolution within the game files itself. Press WIN+R and type %appdata% and press enter. Open Stardew Valley folder, and open startup_preferences as a notepad file or any program of the sort. Press CTRL+F and type "resolution" and click "find next", this will highlight all instances of resolution where you can change the following value to whatever your monitor can support. I suggest 800x by 700y. Hit save, close notepad and do the same for your save file under "saves" folder, for both regular and old versions. Save again and close, then launch the game.If the game launches in a tiny window you'll be able to adjust your settings back to normal. If not, some people have had luck by deleting "startup_preferences" and launching the game after.

My solution, Windows Compatibility Troubleshooter
Open your Steam Library, Right-Click Stardew Valley, click Properties > Local Files > Browse... and the game directory will open. Right-click stardewvalley.exe > properties > Compatibility > Click Run Windows Compatibility Troubleshooter. Click "troubleshoot settings" and make sure only the box "The program opens but doesn't display correctly" then work your way from there. You can test the program, which launches the game, and by then everything was scaled perfectly and I was able to save the settings on the troubleshooter and the scaling works every time I launch the game.

Sorry for being wordy but I noticed a lot of people needing help but never had a solution. Hope this helps someone out there cause this was agonizing to solve myself.

Wow, I can't believe this worked ... Tried multiple things but that did fix it for me !

For some weird reason the resolution will still display as 720p in the settings ingame with no fullscreen option but the game actually displays at 1080p now.

i tried this but all that happened was make it windowed and cut the game almost in half to fit
