Do you leave your barn and coop door open or closed in the evening?
I personally close it after all animals return to the barn and coop but I've left it open overnight several times and I haven't noticed any negative effects yet. So do you guys leave it open or closed?

I'm pretty sure there are no negative effects even if you leave it open during winter, I still only close it during winter mainly for RP reasons, but don’t really bother in the evenings since most of the time I'm trying to reach my bed before 2 am.

I leave it open. Every morning I harvest my fish ponds, then my crab pots, then refill the jars if needed, then dump everything into a chest. Then head over to the animals. Because the pig's been outside for an hour or two by this point, there's almost always my daily truffle waiting for me.

My chickens, on the other hand, haven't seen the light of day in their entire lives. They're miserable. But I just use them for cooking and gifting, really.

I've always let my animals free range with the doors open. Never had an animal attack.

The only time I've seen animal attacks in LPs is when they've closed the coop and a chicken was stuck outside.

If I remember, I close it at night. That way I'm not wasting time running around trying to pet them all in the morning. After that I open it up.

What AllOutWar76 said. Closing the barn/coop results in much less pet-time. Also, its much easier to find the small animals in the coop than in the grass. :)

ever open, i claimed the area they can use with teabushes, and i already must traverse sayed area to get my truffles and can do the pats at the same go, so ever open/close the barns is only a timewaste and brings no benefits.

I always leave it open. Personally, I see no reason at all to close it. What for?

I close it. Having all the animals in such a small space makes giving them the morning pat so much easier than chasing them outside.

I only shut the doors in winter. (Stop heating the outside; Do you think I'm made of money?) Rest of the year I leave them open.

I think if you let monster crawling on you farm at night, maybe they will attack or steal your animals when the door open.

Hmm... I could have sworn that the "attack event" could occur if the door was open, but maybe I'm wrong about that.

Anyway, I usually close the barn/coop doors at night.

The attack apparently only happens if you close the doors and an animal is stuck outside, so it's impossible if the door is open. I tend to close it because of this though:
