Recommended Mods?
I haven't played this game really since it originally came out and am looking to play it again. Are there any mods at this point that are highly recommended whether it's QoL or anything else? Thanks :KSmiley:.

You can definitelly play it wouthout mods and have a very good experience. If there's something missing, then you can still add them later on.

That's at least how i approach mods in any game normally, just to prevent me from loosing track of which features got added by mods.

I hear sdv expanded is one of the 'must haves' if you really want a new and deeper experience

I would like to recommend the two following mods that I use:

Better Ranching:
Shows an indicator whether a farm animal needs petting/milking/sheering
https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/859

LookupAnything:
Shows detailed information for items, people, etc.
This halves my needs to permanently tab put of the game in order to lookup something in the Wiki.

Both are up-to-date to work with 1.5.4

im looking through all this and have no idea how to even install these mods. most of the games i play, its drag and drop them in a folder. this has me confused.

it is drag and drop, but first you install smapi. it is super simple, download, extract, run exe or bat. then drag and drop mods into mod folder.. add launch option to steam: "path" %command%. Initial Setup takes like 2 minutes tops, and then adding/removing mods takes literal seconds.

You can also download and use Nexus' mod manager Vortex to install your mods. That is what I did, took me 5 minutes to set it all up and download/install the mods. Don't know if you're against that though.

SMAPI is really easy to install and mods are pretty much drag/drop into a mod folder.

Most modders also tell you, where to put the files, which other mods are necessary or helpful and/or how to install it, if necessary. Just read the description of it.
