2 things would make a big difference

RNG chances for Pepper Rex encounters and for prehistoric floors is currently kinda low. It seems I get Dungeon level RNG in the regular mines more than encountering a prehistoric floor. For the sake of balance, I would like prehistoric floors to have the same RNG as Dungeon floors and to be added to the regular mines dangerous state (like a chance of replacing the spiders with Pepper Rexs) during and after "Danger in the Deep."

Next, Coffee Beans are just too rare. A Sandy 10 heart quest to unlock Coffee Beans from Sandy (still limited like what Coconuts were changed to, but more consistent than the travelling merchant) would make it a little more fair, or just unlock Coffee Beans at Sandy's after the George Leek quest and the Coffee Maker is given to you, and you already have 10 hearts with Sandy.

if you really need coffee, there is a ring that makes mobs drop coffee when you slay them.
Or put the few coffee beans you have to grow in the green house and you will have an endless supply

coffee beans aren't that hard to get, but yeah it's a bit odd you can't just get them at some vendor in year 2.

I know another source of coffee beans that wasn't mentioned yet in the replies, if you slay dust sprites in the regular mines they drop coffee beans. And I kept getting them often early game with my burglars ring on.

Coffee beans aren't even worth farming, I just buy coffee in bulk from Gus.

i have the coffee ring combined with one of my other rings, and now have about 3000 coffee. , been selling it. , haven't bothered to grow any.

I like growing a small patch of tea and coffee for decor purposes lmao but yeah, there are better and easier ways to get coffee I think even with the Hot Java ring. Especially when you get the coffee maker from the leek monster (aka Evelyn). You can get this after completing a quest for her from the big billboard :)

Well, having 15 coffee beans shipped is a requirement for Polyculture. Fortunately in game achievements aren't required for Perfection, but to be thorough I wish you could get Coffee **BEANS** easier. Coffee is easy, the beans aren't.

Marlon's Monster Eradication Goals are required for perfection. Pepper Rexs are just too rare with the current RNG setup.

Yeah... it's still RNG. Wish it wasn't RNG and you can get it from Sandy after achieving 10 hearts and doing the Leeks quest.

they are? i always seem to get 1 or 2 floors infested with them in your average skull cave run. (and i you are REALLY struggling there is monster musk)

coffee beans just loot some from dust sprites, plant it and ur set.

Yes they are. After you have slain 50 of them you will get the Knight's Helmet from Gil :)
