Game doesn't start, crashes immediately

Hi as the title says, my game doesn't start.

I tried everything, literally everything.
Installed a bunch of stuff, verified integrity, reinstalled the game, moved the install folder, plugged in headphones to the front audio and rear audio as well as tried multiple other audio drivers on my system, like literally everything to no avail.

Can anyone help me? I'm on Windows 10, latest game version, latest drivers, latest steam version and steam redistributables version, everything is up to date.

I'm having the same issue. Worked fine last week.

"Go into the game file directly and then into the folder titled “_CommonRedist”, then “XNA”, then “4.0”, then “xnafx40_redist” installer. Once there, run the installer and hit repair."

This one fixed it. Was from the official website.

Happening with me too. But i can't find the folder to see if Funny Bunny information works.

I already installed all the necessary extra's, I even reinstalled directx but to no avail :(
Also the folder you were talking about doesn't exist for me, I had to go to the Microsoft site and manually download everything and install it. This is so strange and annoying....

Recently, Steam changed the way they distribute redistributables, so that they now use a common redistributable folder for all games. This is likely to cut down on download size, as each redistributable now only needs to be downloaded one, instead of once per game that uses it. It can now be found under:
Steam\steamapps\common\Steamworks Shared\_CommonRedist

Users with older installations will still have their redistributable files in their game directory, but any newer installations will find that all the redistributables are in the above specified folder (with their own subfolders; in this case the XNA subfolder would be what you want).

I realize you've already downloaded the file from Microsoft, but just thought I'd shed some light on why your file is "missing". :)

Нажмите Win+X, выберите командная строка(администратор) или PowerShell(администратор). В открывшемся окне напечатайте Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth и нажмите Enter.

Обязательно дождитесь окончания этой команды.
Займёт минут 15-30.

После завершения прошлой команды пишем это sfc /scannow и нажмите Enter.
После всех проверок закрываем и заходим в игру!

okay so after translation I did what you said but it still doesn't work for me....

Oh well, all my other games do work perfectly, so I'll just wait until the developer of this game pushes an update that fixes the problems.
Just my luck I guess.... I seem to have a computer that isn't compatible with only this game, unbelievable....

This is a sad friend. It was this action that helped me, and I thought it would help you out, too. I wish you all the best of luck.

Try going into your %appdata% folder, find stardewvalley, and remove your startup_preferences file. Worked for me.

If you're scared, just move it to your desktop, but stardew valley will create a new one if it finds it is missing.
