Using Steam Link with Stardew Valley on iPhone/iPad?
I've tried doing Steam Link with my phone (iPhone 12) and tablet (iPad -- 6th gen, I think), and I can do it if I get past the loading screens on my actual computer, but I can't seem to figure out the loading screen with the touch interface for Steam Link. It's not a big deal since I've got the game on all three platforms, but I can't play the tablet's save on the iPhone or the PC, the phone's save on the tablet or PC, or the PC's saves on the phone or tablet.

I was hoping Steam Link would let me at least play the PC's saves on all three platforms, but if I can't figure out how to get past the title page/load game screen, then it is kind of useless.

Does anyone know how to use Steam Link with Stardew Valley on mobile using the touch controls?

Steam Link is made to stream your PC signal onto other devices in your house without actually connecting a video signal to them. Your PC therefore needs to run Steam while you want to play with your PC save files.

And the Steam Link App doesn't start SDV itself on your phone/tablet. It just gets the stream signal from your PC and therefore doesn't get access to any save files on your phone/tablet and won't change them in return as well. The game also doesn't feature any type of cross save function,

I can't say anything about how the controls work though.

this. but also default touch controls act as though your using a controller directly on the pc.
there should be a dpad , and controller buttons that show up on screen. did you make sure to enable touch controls? or are you using a controller?
if you want me too i can shamelessly plug my own video about how to use steam link in general: https://youtu.be/fEkkq_YS4Mc.

I know it doesn't actually save the game and stuff on my other devices. I was just wanting to use it to be able to play the save on the PC from anywhere in the house instead of sitting at my desk.

Yes, I have enabled touch controls and see the D pad, but it doesn't seem to work on the title screen.

I have no idea if it is or not. How would I find that out?
The only way I know other then jail break it is download the xbox app and yes your xbox has to be on for this and I still don't understand why have the xbox app to play your games on if the xbox has to be on it's like just go in on the xbox itself and play stardew like did they think this through no they did not. And if your wondering does it actually work on the phone through the xbox app nope all it does is make you go on the xbox to play the game.

Click on the gear icon. Click on properties and in general there should be an option to enable steam overlay.

I haven't tested it since April, and not going to at the moment. Thanks for the answers.

Solution (1 solution anyway):
I know it's years later but I had the same issue. If anyone else is looking for a solution, the way I was able to do it was connecting a Bluetooth controller (pro controller in my case) to your phone and all the inputs will go through to your computer when using mobile steam link. I prefer this anyway since controllers are much nicer to hold, and Stardew has built in controller support that actually works quite well.

I know this is an old question, but since I couldn't find the answer anywhere and I managed to solve it, here's the solution: I remapped the controller on the touchscreen to simulate keyboard and mouse commands.
