Fishing using KB and Mouse combo
Anyone here play on a PC using a KB and Mouse? I am finding it is very difficult to catch a decent fish (trying to keep the green bar on the fish) using this type of setup. Is a controller better? Suggestions?

I've macroed my keyboard to emulate mouse clicks so I can play one handed on the keyboard, for most things anyway. I definitely find keyboard buttons provide better control.

Practice and patience. I won't claim to have gotten perfect on every fish out there, but it's very doable to catch them all.

I believe reeling in fish is also bound to C by default. Many people find that easier.

I don't see how a controller would be any better, mouse works perfectly fine.
All u need trap bobuler and +3 on fishing will make yo bar big asf

using a controller is much easier imo but using a mouse isnt impossible with some practice and good equipment.

I feel I have more control over the bar with a mouse than I do a controller. Just learn to tap quickly with a mouse, rather than holding (If you're not doing that already). If you are doing that, then, it's just down to practice. Out of everything I love about this game, fishing is one of the only things I don't enjoy, because sometime's, it's just impossible to keep up with them, especially at the start (Where most people will quit).

It very much boils down to learning the different patterns of the fishes. I am mostly playing with controller, but have tried without too and I honestly don't notice a difference. Practice, study and patience are the key ingredients here! :brownchicken:

Just buff up your fishing as much as you can and use any item support that you can. Other than that, just click left mouse button like crazy.

Click AND hold. Some people can't fish because, for some reason, they never tried HOLDING down the mouse button. So they mash and mash and mash then come here complaining it is impossible.

True, a lot of the livelier ones require more holding just due to their speed

What brand of KB do you use?

Well the way I understand the fishing when pressing and HOLDING the mouse button is that the green bar ZOOMs all the way to the top then you lose the fish. So I mash and mash and mash then came here to NOT complain but try and get some tips on using the mouse or possibly a controller. So my current option is KB and mouse unless someone suggests a particular controller that is decent. I do have a controller but for some reason it is not connecting to the game.

I am getting old here and patience is not becoming my virtue. Also I know WASD all too well as well as IJKL in my day. Sometimes you had to throw in QEZC for diagonal direction but not too often. :steamhappy::steamhappy: :lmao:

I found it almost impossible to start with but buy the training rod and practice, practice, practice! Once you begin to level up you can buy better rods and better tackle and it really does get easier. Some fish are the devil to catch but you will get there if you keep practising. Good luck :)

I wish I could help but I've always found that holding the mouse button down instead of rapidly clicking is what does it best for me (I've always played M+KB on this game).

I got the hang of it pretty quickly but the iridium rod helped out immensely. You may have to tough it out till then.

Logitech G510. I've had it for over a decade, an original G15 before that. I can't recommend anything the company makes now, though: the software's gotten worse and they don't have anything with more than a third as many buttons anymore. I'm looking for replacement options; I think this old girl is ready to retire.
