Hamachi is a very powerful networking tool, this notion of using it for games is pretty bad and has security risks. You should never use hamachi unless its with people you know and would invite to your house and give them your network key, because that is basically how hamachi works.
Go into your connection's properties, select IPV4, then select "choose the IP myself". Usually you can use 192.168.1.10, works with most routers, then the mask is 255.255.255.0, and then the gateway is 192.168.1.1, sometimes 192.168.1.0 depending on the router.
For the DNS you can use Google's, they're good. 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
Then, go into your router's settings, find the port forward page, enter 192.168.1.10 as the IP, then use the port range you need (27000 to 27027 is good, also open the port 7777), restart your connection depending on the router, and you're good to go.
On subsequent ports, just do the last step with the router.
If all of that is working then it's the router config. I can't help you here because I don't have that router. Look for documentation. But once you have a static local IP (first step) setup properly, the rest is the easiest.
If your connection fails to connect to the Internet after the reboot, go back to using automatic IP until you find one that works. Try 192.168.1.2 if 192.168.1.10 doesn't work.
Edit: Apparently Netgear can use 192.168.0.X instead of 192.168.1.X as I said.
It's really router specific. You know how to do it now, you only need the correct values for your router.
Its been running pretty good for a couple of weeks now, but still make backups of your saves and everything just to be safe. There could still be bugs.
