Can some events remove others from happening?

Now that Emily is a marraige candidate I got her 8 star event. Since then I'd been trying to get Clint's 6 star event to happen, having already gotten the 3 star event for him. It seems to refuse to occur.

Is it because of what happened in Emily's event? Is something bugging? Did the number of hearts for Clint's 2nd event change in the update?

I've tried multiple times. It's not like it didn't happen one day and I made a post.

Got Clint at 7 hearts, going into town near Marnie's in the middle of the day on a sunny day, viewed 3 heart event.

Anyone have some insight on the particular event?

Huh.

I don't think you're able to trigger it if you've romanced Emily, then again it doesn't mention it anywhere, so I'm not entirely sure.

As an additional note I haven't started actually dating Emily, just viewed the 8 heart event for her. Wherein Clint does a bit of a sad at the end of it that implies the other event may be off.

Yeah, hopefully 1.2 adds and fixes some cutscenes... Like if you marry Emily, then her and Clint just become friends and hang out a lot. It would add a LOT to Clint, in my opinion, if his character got some development in the "nice guy" area. "Emily doesn't like me that way... and that's okay. I'm just glad to spend some time with her. She's helping me come out of my shell. Who knows, maybe during a festival, I'll meet a cute tourist, you know?"

And a lot of other NPCs need some cutscenes. Demetrius' cutscenes just make him seem like an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Linus could use a bit more than "I'm a hobo." Make him have some events involving nature, talking to squirrels or something.

Linus could use a little something. But honestly he does teach you how to make good fishing bait. That's pretty outdoorsy. He also talks about enjoying books, so that'd be a good thing to show off a little.

Personally I don't think Demetrius is so bad, but lets not derail the purpose of this thread, eh? :3

same thing happened to me. although then again others 8 heart events would not happen after I got to emilys but that turned out to fix after a validation of my game files led to 225 not able to validate after the 1.1 update. I CAN confirm that if you get 8 with emily the second clint event wont happen.

Ahhh. Well that's a rough coincidence of timing. I'd JUST gotten her to 8 stars.

I get why that'd be, it's one of the main reasons I was checking, but as the only event to be exclusionary I wasn't sure that it WAS exclusionary.

I suppose that's it for this thread unless someone ends up with proof it's a bug or counter claims that they've had higher ratings with Emily and gotten Clint's 2nd event anyway.

More confirmation wouldn't hurt though either :3 like if Splatterwings has it definitely not happen or something.
